Dutch side businesses to close 11pm-6am
All Dutch side businesses with permission to open at night will have condensed hours as of Sunday.
Based on the ministerial decree:
It is prohibited to have premises open to the public open between 11:00pm and 6:00am, which must in any case include:
a. Bars; b. night clubs; C. discotheques; d. restaurants; e. hotel bars; and, f. spaces that are rented out for meetings, events and parties.
The prohibition referred to in the first paragraph does not apply to:
a. Hotels and lodgings, insofar as their own guests and staff are concerned, and; b. land and buildings of the airport and of the seaports; or c. Minister's decision
The Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications may, by decision, deviate from the provisions of Article II. effective from 23 May 2021.
At present, the number of active cases has increased significantly in a short period of time from 15 active cases on April 28, 2021 to 49 cases on May 18, 2021, and then on May 20, 2021.
Targeted intervention in the event of a rapid rise in the number of active cases is of interest.
Also in view of the prevention of a possible third wave, it is necessary to take appropriate measures. rapid rise to 74 active cases In addition, a negative change in the international ranking in order to travel to Sint Maarten must be prevented.
To control the number of infections and to prevent a further increase, it is considered desirable in the interest of the activity and economy of Sint Maarten to bring forward the closing times to 11pm.

"Went to the Dunes last evening and met up with one of the servers we knew for years at Atlantis/Starz. She told me she was not vaccinated and was afraid of getting the shot. I told her about all the reasons we were fully vaccinated and that she should be as well. Don't know if I convinced her, but will not be going back to that casino anytime soon".
Isn't one of the reasons you got vaccinated is because they told you you would be safe? So why would you care if someone else made up their mind to not get a shot while live human clinical trials are going still taking place, even after you, a guy she knows so well from bringing a couple drinks to over the course of a few years told her?
"As far as I am concerned, people who work in an environment that interfaces with customers on a close up situation should be required by their employers to be vaccinated."
Why? If they refuse, should they be fired? Maybe placed in quarantine with the rest that don't "follow the SCIENCE"? Or perhaps deported?
"It's 5 o'clock somewhere!"

Yup....I'll take 95% effective over zero protection any day....but that's just me
...and....I kinda reverse relate it to smoking and those who don't believe it will eventually kill them....maybe not.....but, while taking a drag, say they won't get a vaccine because they don't "think" it's safe

List the various vaccinations you’ve had in your life. Have you ever been told that you can pass on whatever disease were vaccinated against? It’s BS to frighten the sheep that you can still spread Covid after vaccination. Where’s the data to support that. Might want to did your head out of the sand. It's out there. Not a political thing. It's world wide.

Once vaccinated. While you can still get it you will not have enough to have the ability to spread and you are most likely to have minimal symptoms. Get vaccinated and Live Life!

Not for nothing, but if one is working with the public, one should be vaccinated or wear PPE at all times while inter acting with the public!!!

Agreed. For future reference, as Canuck said "Also, referring to others as "sheep" and their opinions as "B/S" is totally unhelpful. Let's all at least try to be civil with each other." And the term "face diaper" is offensive and will not be allowed here.
