Is Jim still working there? Easy to pick out with his red tennis shoes.

I'm always in the mood for good news, Ed, so thank you for this news. It's one of our favorite places to dine in the Simpson Bay area so I hope it's just as good as it was before. I'll keep that name change in mind.

Wonder why they changed the name to Sea Jack. Only thing I can think of is they didn't want to pay the price for Good Will.

I agree, it probably has something to do with the bankruptcy.
It might not just be an issue of paying to keep the original name. If there were outstanding liabilities from SkipJack's, a continuation of the name with many of the same operators involved, might have exposed the new operation to those liabilities. Hence the need for a new name as part of the legal construct. Just a guess on my part.
I will be interested in your observations, Scubaman, after you have had a chance to visit. Hopefully much of the food and ambiance will have been recreated. I am looking forward to enjoying a visit or two when we return in January. It has always been a favourite. I especially miss the tuna carpaccio!!

We were told it was related to the bankruptcy when there two weeks ago. Also told this is not that unusual in Sint Maarten.

I think they could have come up with a better name but that's only my opinion.

I agree they could have come up with a totally different name, but I figure they wanted it to be confusingly similar...

Seems like going bankrupt then same owners reopen happens a lot on sxm. I don’t know all the details but Having friends that are food vendors Personally I’m not interested in supporting a business that closed owing dozens vendors thousands $ and employees and government not paid then reopens, probably to just do it again. IMO. Lots of great restaurants in the area, I do wish them better luck this time around.
