On Wednesday, there was a planned water shutoff for two hours. However, today, we unexpectedly lost water at 10:00 a.m. We were told by our apartment owner that a large water pipe broke and they are in the process of fixing it. Does anyone have more information? Thank you.

Orient Beach always has water as far as you can see to St Barts and beyond. Sorry couldn't resist it. LOL

LOL but not when you are in the predicament. We know Orient Beach has water issues but we rolled the dice. Two years ago, no problem but didn’t work this year. We have a pool and bottled water. Truly a first world problem but still a pina.

Orient Village and water problems are synonymous with one another. Always some kind of pipe bursting or upgrade taking place, kind of like road repairs in the northeastern United States. Frustrating for sure, but I've never gotten sick on the water in French St. Martin (when its running), unlike Mexico where I have paid the price during and after some past visits.

French side always has water problems, when we stayed on French side in oyster pond. All units had 4 gallon jugs filled with water for times like you experienced especially for the flushing.!
