So our time is really growing short and I can hardly believe we’ve been here two weeks already. We haven’t been to many places nor have we done many things but this has been an enjoyable trip. There hasn’t been any inclination to try to ‘see it all - do it all’ in one short trip so it has been very relaxing.

I awoke again around 6 a.m. but felt no strong motivation to rise and shine early. Checked the waves and they seemed a little louder than they’ve been most of our stay and the water seemed a darker shade of blue rather than the beautiful turquoise hues we’ve experienced for most of our trip. I can only describe the sea by us here at BSV as looking angry and the waves are actually curling and crashing on the beach.

Had breakfast - such as it is when we eat in - of coffee/and, the and consisting of whatever we had left on hand. For DH that was a Jules pastry and for me, a piece of baguette toast. It felt like gourmet to us but probably not to others.

And I did see a huge yacht pass by in the distance this morning - the first really big one I’ve seen in the open waters. Not a cruise ship to be seen which is unusual, and Saba? She be gone again, that little devil. But she be back sooner or later.

Spent some time at the pool and then finished up that yummy tuna salad for lunch. It looks as though it could rain. Or not? We planned on time at the pool but that still remains to be seen. At least then we could easily keep track of the delayed Delta flight from the pool deck and know if our friends got off. And finally, at approx. 3 pm, the daily Delta flight is air bound and The_Lurker is on board - JFK here she comes.I wonder if all of yesterday’s stranded passengers made it on board.

Dinner tonight was at Mezza Luna with Sharon Harris and Jeannie Gunthanen. The place was packed and the food was yummy. It was so good to be able to catch up with these two island rock stars. We laughed till we almost cried. Thank you both again for a fun evening and a delicious meal at a place I’ve always heard about and wanted to try yet never quite got around to experiencing. We all had different entrees but three of us had the escargot with garlic and Gorgonzola. Omg! They were so good.

And now, home and to bed because tomorrow is going to be a busy day getting Covid tested and packing and all that other good stuff that goes along with getting ready to go home.

Respectfully,

pat

It was a night full of laughter with good friends!! Pat, you & John are not only “true oldies” regarding how long you have been coming here but you are just good people. It’s almost impossible for people to not enjoy themselves when they are in your presence because you both just make everyone feel comfortable. I have always said that the best part of having my business was all the wonderful people I met over the years. I have become good friends with many of them & I cherish those friendships. It was great to be able to be here with you two as well as Todd & MJ since you 4 are not just “island friends” but the friendships have extended back to the US. At different times I have been able to get together with you all back in the US. & enjoyed myself every time. Pat I promise you there is a Mike & I hope you all get to meet each other one day soon because I know it would be an instant friendship.......

I wish you all safe travel home and I hope we never have to go so long again without being able to get together.😁😘

Glad you have been able to get together with some long time friends. (I almost said "old", but decided better of it! grin) I'm having a senior moment--where is Mezza Luna?

Glad Terri was finally able to get home.

Sharon - I second your sentiments completely. We had such a nice evening with you and Jeannie - you are both the best and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together, brief as it was, and even if Jeannie did dump us in the end for a better offer😉😉

MezaLuna is on the French side of the island in the general area of Nettle Bay but beyond the hotels and the Cadisco gas station and on the ocean side of the road. If you hit Marigot proper you’ve definitely gone too far. As you may see from these directions I’m possibly the last person in the world you want to ask directions from.

Respectfully,

pat

Yes, we made it!!
A lot of frustration, but also a lot of concern
from our friends! We thank them for that !!
We also made airport friends—
one who visited us during the flight was so sweet.

So, you find the good in everything!!

Enjoy your last day!! 😊

Pat--OK, French side, I'm thinking you all had a 'chauffeur'?? grin Thanks for the info, no wonder I couldn't place it.

Actually, Pat's instructions were pretty good. Heading toward Marigot from Cupecoy, it's on the left side. If memory serves, it's pretty close to Nettle Bay Beach Club. I think it has a fairly large sign so should be easy to spot.

Loving your reports. Relaxing is good. And spending time with good friends is priceless! Escargots with garlic and gorgonzola sounds so yummy. Who ever said you aren’t a foodie?
