Traced to a male tourist. Wonder what the odds are he traveled through SXM prior to taking the ferry over to Anguilla?

How do you figure it was traced to a male tourist?

And how did you arrive at that? From the article "Permanent Secretary Foster Rogers said this is a cluster of cases of unknown origin rather than from community spread." No mention of a male tourist.

I haven't seen the article you are referring to. The 'official' (I loathe to call something on a Facebook page 'official') but the official Facebook page for Anguilla has a link which states in part
"On 21 April, a case of COVID-19 was confirmed in a symptomatic female resident of Anguilla who had no apparent direct links to any imported case of the virus. Linked to this case, two further persons have tested positive on the evening of 21 April. In accordance with public health practices for containment and prevention of spread: • All three persons who tested positive have been placed in isolation; and • The Ministry of health and health Authority colleagues have initiated aggressive contact tracing to identify every individual who may have come into close contact with these three persons. All individuals thus identified will be placed under quarantine and tested. "
BUT all of this is really about Anguilla, not SXM...

How the heck is 3 cases a "CLUSTER"? What a bunch of crap! IF this is accurate, there has to be a case or two on SXM that involves a tourist.

The cluster has now grown to 28 cases as of last report. 180 people were tested in this cluster . The suspicion is it got to Anguilla through a illegal reentry. Yes rural carrier very strange that no reported cases of tourist with virus upon leaving back to US.

Hi guys. This whole thread has nothing to do with SXM. Will move it to General Caribbean.

Has to do with questioning of proper reporting of tourist virus case in Sxm as rural carrier has challenged several times.

This *kinda* does have implications for SXM. As everyone here knows, there is only a couple miles of water separation between the two islands. I'm very curious if the infected person passed through SXM on the way to Anguilla. Seems like much more to this story.

My resource that works in the airline industry confirms the carrier was a male tourist visiting Anguilla.

According to Anguilla website the virus was from illegal reentry. Seems someone chose to go to SXM and reentered Anguilla illegally bringing the virus back with them. This just casts more doubt on their being no reported cases of virus with tourists in SXM.

Anguilla wants all it’s inhabitants to be vaccinated, that is their agenda! Tourists will need Vaccine Passports to enter. The restrictions will be harder for all who want to travel. UK is all in for Vaccine Passports and the USA will give in to this as well.

I can't see how Anguilla is getting by without the tourism income. Is the UK giving them a bailout?
I don't agree the US will give into passports. Too many people like myself that won't be getting the shot and refuse to participate in the hysteria.

Old news. Now has 47 cases. Linked to illegal entry where several Anguillians decided to go to SXM and reentered illegally and brought the SXM virus with them. This was always our worry but dodged the bullet for a year. We are getting it under control.
