Interested in any reports from bnb 2014 either during the cruise or after? How is celebrity doing for this cruise?

Cruise critic is saying a 31 year old female passenger was assaulted by crew member on the new Amsterdam while in roatan and was taken off ship, crew member in the brig. Yikes. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Yikes.gif" alt="" />

14 cabins moved where?? Why?? Was the crewmember a cabin steward? There is very little info on Cruise Critic that I could find. How badly was the woman hurt and what type of injuries did she have?

Another tidbit. I assume more info will be talked about later as most folks are probably enroute to home at the moment.

Ok, thanks. Still not much real info. You're right though, hopefully more info once people get home.

Does anyone who was on the ship wish to give some more information? There really is so little information out there. Some vague statements on Cruise Critic are saying that the alleged assailant had a weapon of some sort and that 14 cabins were moved. The latter doesn't make any sense to me, as I thought that the BN cruises were always sold out, so don't know where there would be 14 empty cabins to move people to...

Carol we were not on the cruise but little has been posted on the BN forum. The cruise did not sell out, so while there might have been room, no mention of forced cabin changes. Only cabin changes mentioned are the typical free upgrades they always do. Cruisers were given a letter on board ship about the incident but no great detail and no mention of any weapon.

I went to BN website earlier and saw that they had still been selling it before they left on vacation, so figured out that it wasn't sold out, which is unusual, I thought, although we have not been on one in a long time. I wonder what BN will do with the situation, as I would think that they would need to make some type of an announcement or press statement. Do you have any idea how badly the young lady was hurt or the nature of her injuries?

We were on the cruise. Holland America sent a letter to each cabin indicating there had been an incident, with some information, but no specifics. If not for that letter we might not have even known. News accounts indicate the woman was taken off the ship in Roatan and returned to the US. Crew member was apparently turned over to authorities right after arrival in port. Didn't see any reporters at the terminal. Seems like the incident , though unfortunate, was handled professionally.
