I cannot believe what we did last week!
A roll of the dice1

I have always wanted to do a Trans-Atlantic cruise... Albeit I not a big fan of Cruise Ships
Rome to New York - with stops on French Rivera, 4 stops in Spain, Portugal, the Azores, and Bermuda.
Longest stretch is 4 days at sea from the Azores to Bermuda.

Sailing date is in November. The deal on NCL was to good to pass up.

Am I crazy.???? Advice??? Past Experiences????

Sounds wonderful. I never thought i would like one as I thought it would too many days at sea, but this one sounds perfect!!

We sailed across the Atlantic from New York to Bremerhaven Germany in 1963 on the USNS Geiger (a Military transport ship). At times, there were 40 foot seas, and they closed the outer doors of the ship to prevent anyone from going outside (who would have wanted to anyway?). It was a long 12 days of sea-sickness. I'm sure today's Cruise Ships can handle the rough water better, due to their stabilizers (the transport ship didn't have them).

I am positive that the cruise ship will do better than a troop carrier.
I have flown on C-130 from Cherry Point, NC to Ramstein, Germany with heavy head winds.
24 hours and 6 minutes - Good thing it was a KC-130. (The K is a tanker for refueling) Gas was not issue.

The trip I think offers a lot of opportunities to scout and just quality quiet time. We plan to use the SPA a lot. (one of our upgrades)
I am hoping someone will chime in on how crowded these trips are. I have heard 30 to 60 percent occupancy - Is that true?

Now we just have to get the COVID done so we can travel.

A plea to everyone in the world - if you can... get the damn shot!

Tom--I'm not sure that stats about occupancy from pre-Covid trips really are relevant anymore..

Do you have your shots?

All three couples have been vaccinated now for over 4 weeks.
We have been pod throughout the ordeal.

NCL has a policy all passengers have to be vaccinated. Policy in effect until 10/31. I am sure it will be extended. NCL suppose to start sailing 8/31 again.
