Quote from the article ... "In addition, there are plans to expand waterfront dining to the area that currently serves as ground-level parking. " Well, f*ng great, so where are people going to park?????????
Glad to see they are reopening, but I doubt we will go there if they have no parking....

Yes. Parking will be difficult in that area with Lee's and Greenhouse there too. At least for us we are in walking distance to all three.

How in the world a restaurant could DO AWAY with parking and think that is going to help them long term, is beyond me.

Only thing I can think is they are going to build above the current parking lot. Park above the dining area?? So it will be open air dining, but covered. Who knows.

I really don't think that's gonna happen.....I guess they will just deal with the added dining options and ignore the parking. If you want to walk the beach there is parking in the lot across from Skipjacks
Walking the beach is not a bad thing....

Or have the same parking lot with a structure above to dine on. Guess we'll find out when it's done or to ask owners when on island. Good project for me come May over a Carib.

boucharda--walking the beach from SBR maybe, not from anywhere else. I think you are right, they are just going to do away with the parking..

Totally agree, parking is always an issue there at night even with the lower parking. My guess is they won't be filling that "new" dining area if people have no where to park, very short sighted. When I first read about the opening, I was hoping the new owners wouldn't fix something that isn't broke.

I meant walking Kim Sha from the decent size parking area across from Skipjacks ...flat...beach sand...unlike the walk from SBR beach with either Villa stairs or a decent hill by registration to navigate. No direct walk from SBR beach. I've done both MANY times and the Kim Sha walk is much less of an effort and much more scenic.
I do agree that they shouldn't have tried to fix the unbroken part though....

Lesley--if you know the owners personally, you should tell them that their plans to do away with the parking is a bad idea..

Being a pro-mask person I find it acceptable for customers not to have masks on at an outdoor establishment having drinks and enjoying food. Sitting at a bar or table with friends with masks on just does not compute

Lesley--I guess anyone who goes there needs to tell them not to take away the parking, or they won't be coming back.

I won't be doing that. There are plenty of customers well within walking distance of their establishment. Looks like they've decided that the increased serving areas outweigh the lost parking. Their yard.....their rules.

Good for them but.....HORRIBLE news for everyone else in the area unless you like a car parking nightmare. That area needs less cars not more. But Is it really a beach bar that you can hang on the beach all day? To me not really and not that great of beach. I much prefer Mary's Boon Beach Bar or Katakter which is a great fun beach and even has guys in the parking lot and helps you park your car. Even driving to Orient is less hassle. How in the world can a business get a permit and not provide parking for customers? But you see it all the time on the island, I'd only go there or Greenhouse for a quick meal...otherwise I'd pass. Just me. I'm sure the will do fine.

They had a lot of tables and chairs before they closed. I live in the Cupecoy area and would have to drive my car. I'm not walking a mile from parking around the corner on the beach for a burger or ribs no matter how good they are. Removing the parking area is just a flat out bad idea.

Guess they believe they can do fine with locals along with tourists from Royal Palm, Atrium, Flamingo, Simpson Bay Villas and SBR. They are probably correct

I left La Vista out because of the hill challenged but I guess it's the same as Flamingo....and SBR...
Total. for all....A tad over 820 rooms of various size and persons in each

I didn't think that the parking removal was planned to be immediate but more an "in the near future" thing....like the beach cabanas.....their immediate issue was just reopening not expansion

Hi Carol , just passed by and the parking is open. Should be as that was scheduled to happen later in the year or beginning of next.

Lesley--as others said, I think they were talking about the future, to do away with the parking.

Was the last and first place to go for a drink on island. Nice people worked there, great cheeseburgers. Picturesque views. Let's hope it retains the original charm.
