I assume lots has changed since our last trip, especially at Orient Beach and Grand Case. Looking for recommendations for a laid back beach vibe and a reasonable chair/umbrella fees. What's open and good in Grand Case? On our last trip that side of the island was still very devastated.

Our two favorites in Grand Case are LTC (Le Temps de Cerices) and Grand Case Beach Club. Both have very comfortable beach chairs with attentive service and great food in the restaurant. If you were a fan of KokoMarina and later Palm Beach on Orient, Koko and Marina are running the restaurant at GCBC. LTC is decidedly French, with excellent cocktails and food. Both have comfortable chairs and beach service. I think the chairs at both are around $20 for two, which includes an umbrella. At LTC, they were also including bottled water and a nice beach towel in that price, when we were there in December.

On Orient Beach we have had recent wonderful experiences at Le String, Chez Leandra and Orange Fever. Will be checking Sun Beach Clubber soon

I am so pleased that I see (on the map) there so many new/re-built places on Orient. When we were there in September 2018 there was essentially only one or two places open on the north side and just devastation south of there. And Grand Case was a mess.

Orient is basically up and running, lots of choices, agree with the recommendations above, though we usually stick with Orange Fever. As to Grand Case, for beach chairs, LTC is a good option, also Capt Frenchy's , which is a few doors down also has nice chairs with pads. Most of the restaurants in Grand Case are open for dinner now, much better that right after IRMA. Other dining options include the village at Orient, a number of restaurants with open air seating.

Only lunch we had on Grand Case was at the. lolos. BUT....had quite a few great lunches at LeString. Also, if you eat there, the chairs and umbrellas are complimentary. Jean Henry, the beach guy, will take fantastic care of you too. Severine and Lionel, the owners of Le String, will make your beach expeience a day to remember. The new french chef is wonderful, and will make your mouth water!!!! Prices are VERY reasonable too. And...the best BBC's on the island!!!

Wai is a wonderful new restaurant on Orient Beach, and Orange Fever is also terrific, but the kitchens close at 4 PM except for Thursday nights at Wai. Wai is partially owned by Chrystal, who previously owned Le Piment in orient Village. The owners of Wai also own Le Villa in Grand Case.
