Hi everyone, I need a little advice. We have a charter with the Moorings that starts May 2. Travel logistics has one of the couples arriving STT at 3:30pm. Instead of delaying the start of the cruise to wait for them to arrive at YHG, we would like to take the boat to either Brewers Bay or Lindbergh Bay to secure a spot. Does anyone know of a water taxi that would take them out to meet us on the hook? Or is there a spot nearby that we could pick them up in the dingy? Is this a good option or should we just wait for them at YHG and hope for no delays? Any feedback or advice is appreciated. Thank you!
Thank you, Lily

Your dinghy will be the water taxi at either of those anchorages -- your guests can walk to Lindbergh from the airport in 5 minutes and a beach pickup shouldn't be more tha wet ankles at either beach. They will have to take a taxi to brewers - 10 min ride - but the same beach pick up procedure by dinghy. Brewers is much more peaceful and flat if you stay overnight. Waiting at Yacht Haven is not really adding much time to their arrival -- depending on when you would leave the dock to go get them.

Thank you for the reply and information. We hope to leave YHG by 2pm. If they land on time, I estimate they could get to YHG by 4:30 if all goes smoothly at the airport. My concern is if we wait for them, will we have a hard time finding a spot at Brewers? Are we better off dropping lines as soon as possible to secure a spot and then picking them up?
Thank you, Lily

Brewers Bay is plenty large enough that you would probably Never be shut out of a comfortable place to anchor if that helps. I drive by that anchorage almost every day!

I would anchor in Druif Bay / Honeymoon Beach at Water Island and have them take the Crown Bay ferry. It is fast, cheap, and they can meet you at a beach front table at Dinghy's Beach Bar and Grill.
Cheers, RickG
