OK, another day in the books. Went over to the Red Cross, was in line maybe ten minutes, but after some discussion with a lovely English speaking Red Cross person, We decided to hold off our tests to tomorrow. The three day limit was getting a bit iffy, since are flight would've been a few hours over 72 hours, but found out later it would've worked out. Oh well, we only lost ten minutes of what was going to be Oreint Beach time, so we will return tomorrow and get it done. Got to Orient, and the winds were whipping feircely, it was dark clouds, overcast, so we decided to head back to LaPlage, where we basically layed low for the day. Heated up my leftover veal parm from the night before, wife had her pasta left also, a new french bread along with a nice dessert from the bakery on the hill out of Marigot. Tonight, was a lovely dinner at Karakter. Delicious chicken satay for both of us, along with some great music made for a very lovely evening. A bit of a breeze, but not enough to not enjoy a lovely St. Martin night. Yes, as most of you know by now, followed up by a couple of hours of black jack at the casino. Again, went into my pocket, but not too bad. Still hopeful that tomorrow night and Friday will bring me back to even??? If not, hey...it's vacation!!!! Oh, the good news for island lovers is, that the pelicans at the airport are really starting to take shape. Not fully back to their original glory yet, but looks like in a short time, they will once again be a beautiful monument to greet us all leaving the airport. And..for those that are still reading my posts...thanks for taking the time to enjoy our vacation with us. I think if i was reading them, i would be bored silly by now, by this couple of ''boring and not to adventurous'' couple that just love being on the island, year after year, after year. More to follow...but not too much more

Ed, thank you for taking the time to post throughout your vacation! It’s always great to hear some of the places you’re going to are the same as the ones we’ve been to in the past and looking forward to going to again. We’re heading back in a little over a week and your posts are helping us start our vacation early by ‘pre-visiting’ some of our favorite spots.
Enjoy the remainder of your vacation!
Ben

Thanks for all your posts! What was the traffic situation like at Karakter? I love their evening concerts, but the past few times we were there, the parking was so scary, we haven't been back.

Carol. No problem with parking at all last night. Kind of quiet. We did attempt to go Sunday night, but it is their beach party, and it was impossible to find a spot when we attempted around 8.

OK, what is the beach party? Is that the head banging music??? I have NO desire to do that. What kind of music did they have last night?

Carol...last night was a duo. Did mostly 70's. Great stuff from Elvis, to Creedance, to Clapton, to a whole lot more. Very entertaining. Ant the Chicken Satay they serve is the BEST satay i have had. Always a great casual night. The BEACH PARTY i think iss sponsored by the radio station, it attracts a younger crowd, and probably play plenty of ''head banging'' music. Not my cup of tea either.

A few years ago, we decided to walk to Karakters from BSV, instead of worrying about parking. We walk it all the time, so we thought it wouldn't be an issue, but it wasn't a good idea.

Why wasn't it a good idea to walk there?

Yes,at night. Sorry, I noticed I forgot to mention that.
Scubaman, at night it's a challenge. Very dark and so many different things on the uneven sand.
