This cost was previously included in the $175 per person fee that also covered the cost of the two mandatory tests and transportation to/from those testing locations.
So does this mean they are going to lower the cost of the 175.00 ~ one would like to think they would but I highly doubt it. They really need to pick a program and stick with it.
This, like many of their directives, only appears to deal with taxi transportation. They never seem to consider that some guests will be staying on the "Sister Islands" of Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, and Anegada. So far, those guests have been taken by private boats to the island on which their accommodations are located. I'm not sure what happens to those travelers now. That could be a substantial cost increase.
Stand by for an update from the BVI Government. They pulled the original poster so it has disappeared where people shared it. There are copies still on various social media platforms but I would assume they are revising or enhancing it.
Here is the latest. Arriving passengers are to pay for ground transportation (already implemented). Sea transportation will continue to be paid by the BVI Government through April 23 and in the intervening time they will hold stakeholder meetings to discuss the rates and implementation.
