Lounged around until lunch time then decided to venture out unsure where we’d go. Went to the Marigot Marketplace after which we headed back to Tropicana at Marino Royal

I stand firm in my original report last week...not memorable. Only this time I made a point to note what we had. I had snapper in a cream sauce and hubby had salmon in a raspberry sauce. My opinion is they should have switched the sauces, Salmon cooked nicely, snapper overcooked. Both served with mashed potatoes that were remenicent of instant. That’s all we had and bill was $53

Asked for soufflé and was told only Saturday evenings with a reservation. Not at lunch.

Sorry to those of you who like this place but we won’t return as long as there are many better places, one being Be Cool across from this place.

Stopped at Carrefore near causeway for Etna Rhum Raisin ice cream to compensate for no soufflé . Now a nap.

Wow, OK, that is disappointing on several levels. I personally do not care to go to Marigot at night, and I was hoping to go get the souffle at lunch time. I guess we won't bother to even go to Tropicana now.

Be Cool is a great restaurant. Have been there twice for lunch in the past...and have had two great meals both times.

I agree the sauces should have been switched. Have you been to the Lolo’s in Grand Case yet? I actually enjoyed the red snapper at the Lolo’s with no sauce and served whole.

I have been several years ago when we stayed at GCBC. We like the whole snapper at Rosemarys LOLO in Marigot at waterfront near marketplace but it was closed when we passed.

Okay - I confess. I have no clue where Be Kool is located. Help, please.

Be Kool is immediately across the marina basin. Tropicana faces south, Be Kool faces north.

Had lunch at Be Kool once and dinner at our favorite restaurant on the island, Tropicana, 3x in January. Both were outstanding. Never thought I would recommend a restaurant based on french fries, but Be Kool's fries were worth the calories and carbs. And Tropicana is still as wonderful an experience now as it was when we first went there in 1991. I only hope that the tourists are now starting return to the Marigot Marina to help get the SXM restaurants back on their feet. So sad to see so many restaurants throughout the island so empty in January.

In December went to Le Petite Auberge in the Marina. One of my favorite restaurants on the island. Back in another week and looking forward to another of their wonderful meals and beautiful view

Be Kool has a FaceBook page if you'd like to look. Mostly in French, but with some translations. I didn't see a menu, but there are many pictures of their food. Although the setting and the name seem quite casual, the food certainly is not. FaceBook- Restaurant Be Kool

We ate there 4 times in two weeks. The menu is on a board brought to your table. One side is French other is English and it changes daily. I think it's based upon what items are available and what the chef feels like cooking.

Some items were foreign to us but perhaps that's what the French like. I can't remember some to tell you because I didn't feel adventurous. We had (not in any day or order, just memory) Boeuf Burgenone, Sirloin Fillet done to perfection, Tourbot, Pork tenderloin, Salmon. They offered Shrimp, other fishes. The dishes we had all came with the same mixed veggies slivered and choice of potato, au gratin, mashed, garlic, fries. Tried to get away from those fries but couldn't. they are addictive!

Mario used to have my favorite onion soup but now it's Be Cool. Aptzrs were goat cheese, salads, shrimp to name a few.

Well. after devouring this large bowl I was sorry I had ordered an entree. I think this alone (maybe with their fries on the side ---lol) would be enough. The soup was very rich in flavor. There were onion strips as well a pureed onion and some bread mixed with it---not on top as some soup is served. The cheese was thick and delightfully messy. I ate it all, not a spoonful left. When I couldn't finish my entree owner told me he almost told me to not order anything but the soup since he has only one size, large. But then, he said,"I would not have made the money if I stopped you. Now you have leftovers."

You should try Champagne Bistro in the Orange Grove shopping center. Call ahead or check first as they don't have them every day.

Those were on the menu at Be Cool. Actually it was on every menu we passed in that marina and at Grand Case Beach Club Sunset Restaurant. We were told the mussels arrive on Thursday so all weekend everyone has a mussels special.
