So sad to hear Maria Rodriguez and others perished in a helicopter crash Monday on St Thomas. She was a good soul. I had the pleasure of meeting her a few years back. She took lots of pictures after the storms showing the devastation from the air. I heard a story on Anegada that she emptied her pantry and brought what she could to Anegada to help shortly after the storms. A true angel. RIP Maria.

STT is a small town community -- this terrible crash has affected so many of us - I knew everyone onboard, Maria and her family since her school days and also the local family socially and in business. They will all be missed and mourned by people all across our island and by many who have crossed their paths beyond the Virgin Islands.
Prayers and condolences are on everyones minds this morning and the sadness is widespread.

The article I read did not mention names yet. I only got Maria's name from a Kenny Chesney post. Prayers and condolences from the states for all involved.

The loss of Maria is truly felt on Anegada, she rescued and helped so many of us after Irma, bringing news of the outside world and passing messages out to let people know Anegada survived, now we have lost a precious soul.

So sad..seems we are losing a scary number of wonderful Virgin Islanders. I hope some upcoming generations will take inspiration from all these folks and step it up.

We sat on Gibney Beach the other day and watched one of her company’s helicopters flying over STJ. How short life can be, I feel for all involved.
