Fred, I believe Indonesia is considered part of Asia by most geographers. I'm going to guess Sumatra.

I know Indonesia is part of Asia, but the clue was " Right continent Fran but wrong country". I considered Indonesia a group of several islands independent of the Asian continent - I could be wrong.
Too many islands and I don't know which one.

Indonesia is part of Asia because it lies on the same continental shelf as mainland Asia. In just the same way, the British Isles are part of continental Europe because they lie on the same continental shelf. The island in question is a very popular destination for Aussies and Brits but perhaps not for Americans. The name of the island exists in a song title in a Rogers and Hammerstein movie.

Not Sumatra Fran but close. Bali is correct Fred.
We are an island now but as recently as 9,000 years ago (just after the last ice age) you could walk from England to France. Melting ice, a landslide in Norway and the resulting Tsunami flooded what is now the English Channel and that was that, Britain became an island.
