I just looked at July fares for DFW-MIA-SXM and they were $1,897 per person for the main cabin. That's +/-$600 more than I have ever paid. FF miles were 75k per person. Testing to get there, testing to get back and outrageous fares means it's a no go for us. Glad we made it there in October.

We just booked our November/December trip and it was about $650 a person. We did note that they now ask if you want to pay $50 to allow a change in dates. We also could not yet pick our seats even though we have our ticket numbers.

Our return date isn't yet available, but when I looked at our start date and the latest return date, the fares were pretty outrageous. Hope that changes soon. As to paying extra to allow a change, it seems it might be a better value to just purchase the Allianz trip insurance, which we've done for the past several years.

I just looked at April fares for DFW-MIA-SXM and they were $637 per person. So it's $637 in April and $1897 in July for the exact same flights. Anyone care to explain that??

That makes no sense at all. If anything, it should be the other way around.

We booked our July tickets back in Oct on AA. PVD-CLT-SXM. It was about $700 per person with taxes and fees. Same flights are now $1800 per person. The return flight is the one that is bumping the price up. There are less expensive options but still more expensive then what we paid.

Working on our flights for Nov / Dec and while the trip down is stupid expensive I had two options I liked coming back in December. One was about $460 but had a night in Miami with a 5:30am departure, declined on that and took for $561 SXM to MIA then to DFW where we will stay the night, then a easy 10am next day to PDX all first class. Similar to what we went through last year where we booked the trip back before the trip down, eventually we got the trip down at a similar rate but had to spend an extra 3 nights which we enjoyed very much!

I just booked for October on AA for $637 per person. Still don't understand why July is so high.

For what's its worth, one-stop flights from Buffalo, NY to SXM with Delta in November are averaging $542/person -- consistent with what they have been in past years. When searching flights on Kayak, SkyScanner, etc. the rates are typically lower if you choose Tuesdays or Wednesdays as opposed to weekends. Just an FYI. Likely to be booking our next trip soon.

Keep looking.
We re-booked our November 14th arrival tickets using the credit we had. About $475 each for first class, one-way.
Booked return trip for Dec. 1st, first class, 43,500 miles for Matt and 50,000 miles for me.
Usually it's 60,000 miles.

I just kept checking each day.

My FC return from SXM to MIA to SEA was 15,000 miles for a Friday return in June. 50,000 miles to get there FC in May on a Saturday.

Oh, I booked months ago. I paid a few dollars more than the current cost, I think. Would have to look it up to make sure.

Supposedly all fares are refundable without penalties because of covid. If so cancel and rebook.

It's only $13 different, not sure it's worth it.

We just booked our return flights for just under $500 per person, business class. The flight down, on a Saturday, is over $1,900 each! I looked at the Wednesday before, and it's around $600 each, again business class. The airlines clearly know that most timeshares are sat-sat, and price their flights accordingly. I'll be trying to talk David into a few extra days. We can stay at GCBC for three nights and still save well over $1,000 on the airfare.
