We arrived yesterday...Delta BOS-ATL-SXM. BOS flight had around 75 empty seats....SXM flight was north of 100 empty and was delayed maybe 30 minutes because of a fueling issue ...still need 30,000 POUNDS of fuel for the flight. It was obvious how empty when the WHOLE plane, except for three wheel chair couples, got on one bus AND it wasn't crowded (including three dogs) . ---arrived after the Air France flight so there was a decent amount of passengers waiting to pass through the steps.

BOS....no flight for you if you didn't have the negative lines for report AND the permission to enter SXM....ATL checked papers again at the gate...no stuff...no flight

PJIA ...bus to immigration ,.., .lines for doc check (COVID/EHAS) had maybe 100 in it and we were first off bus. Immigration had maybe 40...no biggie....after that customs actually greeted you and , asked a couple of questions and we were out. Relatively smooth process...masks, sanitizing and distancing decent

SBR....sanitizing, temp taking before check in ...no one else there at 4pm..unique. Resort is comparatively empty. Two people at the pool this am and PLENTY of parking.

Lee's....excellent first day meal...two grilled fish plates (garlic butter) with two sides, a white wine, two Caribs, bottle of mineral water...$34....maybe three tables occupied

Today...perfect am for tennis. Went from playing in 29 degree windy weather on Saturday to 81 degrees here. Went to Carrefour in Cole Bay later which TOTALLY reminded me of Super U in Marigot. Set up similarly with mostly French products. Great selection of everything. Carib was $17.45/ case before a promo of $1.50 off...perfect. Sanitizing, masks, distancing not an issue....fears resolved.

Gonna walk Simpson Bay Beach now and feel some toe sand as a preview of some real beach time this week.

Oh...I almost forgot. One of my tennis buddies who has a home here had his pic taken with John Legend and wife at "The Rib Shack" across from Skipjacks....they were here for New Years

...and Roman A's 767 took off earlier. Haven't seen the Eclipse here
