Any idea when seaports will open for cruising sailors?

I am quite surprised seaports are not open to cruising sailors wishing to sail in the BVIs. Cruising sailors likely present very little risk to BVI residents given the protocols they must follow in and around many islands throughout the Caribbean. They would at least bring some much revenue into the territory, either by dining in restaurants, provisioning or utilizing help for work on on their vessels.

I do wonder if they are indeed open as we did notice a BVI flagged vessel - a 74 ft catamaran haul out in Sint Maarten, rush through 2 days of repairs, then launch so they could pick up their charter guests in the BVIs the following day. Not sure how that couple re-entered.

Sleepychef, I am not going to tattle on them by divulging their boat name. I can only say that the boatyard manager here in SXM told us and we spoke with them briefly while waiting to launch.

My husband and I thought they hauled in SXM as there may not be a travel lift large enough to haul them in the BVIs

What is the maximum beam that VG can lift.

In any event, that is what we were told by multiple sources. So not sure if this is correct, but I thought it was interesting as we would like to visit and are waiting patiently for the seaports to open.

Ok to clear this up, I looked the vessel up on marine traffic using their AIS signature. They are currently in the USVI.
