Why is there 18 holes in a round of golf and where was it decided upon?

Yes xrayman67 it was St Andrews and its 18 holes as they changed short holes, but I prefer that they decided 18 as thats how many nips they get out a bottle of whisky.

OK, Alaska has to be right, so obviously the others are wrong. Wait, Hawaii has to be right! OK, I think it's a matter of definitions. When you say "most southern", does that mean the northern border of the state is the furthest south?? Regardless, Hawaii has to be right.

I'm thinking the most northern would be Alaska. I think that may also be the answer for the most western (Aleutian Islands). The most southern could be Hawaii and the most eastern Maine.

How in the world could Alaska be west of Hawaii? East, I'm going to guess North Carolina.

And in fact the correct state has a longitude of 179°46'E making it the most eastern state

Well, Longitude starts at the prime meridian, or zero degrees longitude (Greenwich England) and I believe adds one degree as you head east from there so 179+ would be halfway around the globe, therefore, some part of the western US is actually in the eastern hemisphere. The westernmost state could be also the easternmost.

Which mountain range in Africa has the same name as a town in South Wales?

I'll chime in.

How many states are there in Mexico?

Bonus question: How many of them can you name? (I can typically come up with a little more than half of them.) Please don't put your list here, just the number.

Dan cheers

Looks like a hint is needed. OK, add the number of people who have walked on the moon to the number of nervous breakdowns in the Rolling Stones song.

Dan cheers
