Woke up very early to catch a direct flight on JetBlue to SXM from Boston. When we checked in with our bags asked for our negative test/pre-approval and then again at the gate. Mostly empty flight and we had treated ourselves to Mint which was very lovely. When we arrived off we went on the bus which is just plain silly to me but we sat right up front next to the open door and it took <1 min, but still I have to ask why? We made our way up a ramp and around - you are asked to sanitize your hands then handover your negative test/pre-approval again and they stamp you as approved. Finally to passport control, once through our bags were already out - grabbed and headed to meet Lesley of Kenny’s car rental, efficient as usual. Drove over to La Vista who were nice enough to give us another room that was ready for us to do an early check in. Unpacked and walked Billy Folly to the new Lee’s location for our first time. They were out working on the Pelican which I’m guessing must be closer to ready as we could see furniture set up. At Lee’s there were folks at a handful of tables. I got the grilled mahi-mahi, potatoe salad and plantains and hubby got grilled ribs/chicken potato salad and fries. Delicious! A woman seated near us asked how our meal was, I assume she was one of the owners. Walked back and noticed a new to us spot, Juliette’s that I was curious about. We were a bit hot from the walk so took a quick swim in the infinity pool at La Vista before heading out to Marigot to watch the sunset and have dinner @ La Terasse at the West Indies Mall (sister restaurant to our fav La Cigale that is closed through December). More on that next time. Beautiful wonderful day.

Thanks for the update, hope to read more. Enjoy.
You mentioned they are working on the "Pelican". Are you referring to Flamingo, Simpson Bay Resort or something else?

Whoops sorry looking at the map I think it must be part of the Flamingo.

The reference to the ‘Pelican’ is what I meant, it’s across from La Vista, but I guess it’s the Flamingo. They have been doing construction there.

OK I'm confused I thought she said they were at LaVista? She did and they are but "Pelican" was mentioned and it is no more. Walking to Lee's from La Vista, they would pass both Flamingo and Simpson Bay resort, the former Pelican.

We just left La Vista Beach after a three week stay. Juliette's is a part of Simpson Bay Resort (former Pelican). We enjoy their pizza, and it's an easy walk from LV. Flamingo is almost ready to reopen; I think all of Pelican is already open, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

I am sure she was referring to what USED to be Pelican, which as you stated is Simpson Bay Resort.
