I see the reports of on arrival checking of the EHAS form....checking that there is a negative COVID test...but I haven't seen any mention of the required medical insurance. Do they check to see if you have appropriate coverage or not?
Not asking if you SHOULD have the coverage...just curious to see if anyone was questioned about it and what proof was presented.

Re questions upon arrival regarding medical insurance, none were asked of us upon arrival and I donโt see any on the EHAS filing form for mandatory temp reporting.

I noticed the EHAS form asked if you specifically have:
1. Medical Travel Insurance 2. Covid Insurance
My travel medical plan excluded covid, so I purchased an inexpensive supplemental plan specifically for covid. I did not want to risk answering no to covid insurance and having my application for entrance denied when I have jumped through many hoops to get to SXM. Itโs already a rollercoaster ride as it is. Crazy times!
Anyways, I printed out copies of both plans, in the event we are asked for evidence of insurance.

We arrived today and were not asked for evidence of medical insurance or covid insurance. We did purchase both types of insurance as we are staying 2-3 months.
We merely presented our EHAS pre-approval form along with negative rt-PCR test and were admitted.
Bear in mind, we would have been denied boarding at our first departure point (California) without the EHAS pre-approval and negative covid test. In addition we were asked to have our documents verified again in Atlanta prior to boarding.

I bought two weeks primary medical coverage inc. COVID related illness ($250k/pp, $1 million medical evac/repatriation and some other travel coverage) for $104.15 for two persons I did not add trip cancel insurance which made this a tad cheaper quote...
