I started a new thread with a relevant title. We are staying near Blind Creek (Ft. Pierce/Jensen Beach/Hutchinson Island, FL) for a month. Here is info on lodging.

Well there sure is no Club O but there are lots of lodging options near Blind Creek nude beach. Check out the Treasure Coast Naturists website for the closest ones:

Note that their map shows the Jensen Beach Inn in the wrong place. It is not in Ft. Pierce but rather in Jensen Beach, as per the name!

There are also lots of motels just off the island in Ft. Pierce and Jensen Beach as well, all within a half hour of the beach.

We just rented a condo via AirBnb, they had many options on Hutchinson Island depending on your timeframe. We are kind of off-season so finding a place wasn't hard.

For those with an RV and you want nude-friendly accommodations near Blind Creek you could give Sunnier Palms a call.

We visited the beach last week. Water was nice, waves were fun. Sand was soft and beach had plenty of room. Only downside was no bathroom facilities close by.

None within walking distance but there is a sign saying that there are facilities north and south by a mile or 2. Hopefully the county will relent and at least allow the return of the porta-potties.
By the way, we have had some super beach days with a few crummy cold ones sprinkled in. It's a nice area (Ft. Pierce-Jensen Beach-Stuart) for other activities, though, and we're just starting to explore them.
No problem parking in the main (south) lot during the week and until mid-day on weekends. The north end of the beach is an option then, another parking lot. The Treasure Coasts Naturists encourage people to use this area so that the county will move their nudity boundary sign farther north. Lots of folks doing just that from what I could tell. in fact we are heading there today.

St Lucie County is considering/planning to pave the parking lot and build new restrooms. Stay tuned.

A beach bud, who is also on the St Lucie Commissioners Board told me that in addition to constructing new restrooms they will pave the parking lot as well. In the meantime they’ve cleared some trees in the main area to make room for more parking.

Wow, such connections!
Quote: "and they would construct permanent restrooms to replace the portable toilets that are there now" Good news if so. Would be even better if that put down Mobimats on the path up over the dune. Tough going with my wagon and not accessible for handicapped. Since it's about 1/10th the walk at Gunnison, I shouldn't complain eh?

BIG crowd there today, perfect beach day! Calmish ocean, plenty of sun and mild land breeze. Noseeums were around but Off takes care of those until the breeze picks up. One more day and then off to Cypress Cove for the winter. Tough life.

Update on Blind Creek Improvements - New restrooms will be constructed within a two year timeframe. There are no plans to pave the parking lot at this time.
Mobi mats would be nice as they have them at Haulover.

Thanks. Paving not needed if they would just grade the entrance to keep the potholes down. They were horrendous until 2 weeks ago! They come back somewhat every time it rains, seems like.

Should have mentioned that Blind Creek Beach has 2 entrances, the regular south one that has the most parking, but also the lot about a mile north. According to Treasure Coast Naturists, nudity is ok at that end too even though the county placed a sign way south of there. In fact they encourage usage at the north end to show that their conservative sign placement is too restrictive, especially given the way the south lot fills up on weekends and jamming up the beach there as well in these times when distancing is important. The beach at the north end is beautiful as well even more wild and untamed! We went there twice during our stay and enjoyed the quiet serenity and communing with nature/naturism!

Sounds ok but how long can it take to build bathrooms? Budgetary issues probably. At least the county recognizes the value of BCB! Looking forward to our month there this Fall!

Posted on the Treasure Coast Naturists Facebook Page:
PLANNED IMPROVEMENTS TO BLIND CREEK BEACH
The TCN Board has been in close communication with our County officials, and we are pleased to share the following planned improvements to Blind Creek Beach. Please note, we have not been given any specific timelines for these improvements.
Road Improvements:
The timeline for the improvements is that the funds will be available on October 1, 2021. Estimates will be requested in September so that the County can move forward as soon as scheduling will allow. The County intends to secure estimates for both asphalt and asphalt milling with chip seal. After estimates are received, the County will proceed with the material that provides the best results for longevity considering the high public use. The total area to be improved will be dependent upon pricing and budget.
Bathrooms:
The bathroom building has been approved for purchase; as has the engineering to start the process of identifying an approved location for the building, where the utilities exist to connect to, how to best connect everything, and provide handicapped parking at the Restroom that has a handicapped walkway to the boardwalk. The Purchasing Department is currently working on the Work Authorization contract with the Engineering Firm. When that contract is completed the design work will begin.
Showers:
The County is considering a shower at the west side of the dune crossover. There will most likely be showers at the Restroom as well. The County will figure that into the design.
Handicapped access:
There will be an ADA parking spot at the restroom. There will also be a sidewalk that goes from the restroom to the dune crossing. The dune crossing as packed coquina is considered ADA compliant if it is maintained. There are no additional beach access improvements planned.
