What's the best way to get to the Miami cruise port from Fort Lauderdale if you don't have a car?

Actually renting a car for one day would probably be the most cost effective way to do it. You can buy transfers from your cruise line, which presumably would be cheaper than a cab.

On those share rides, how long does one usually need to wait before the van is full enough to leave. I have done many orbits around LAX with Supper Shuttle drivers waiting to find more people. Wasting a long time.

There is a Train from FLL airport to MIA, which is pretty cheap at $6.25 and about 30 minutes. A cab from there would be a lot cheaper.

Luckily, on my trip, the van filled up right at our ship, so no need to drive around looking for others.

If you're going on a cruise most of the cruise lines will provide transfers (at a slight cost)
