Turns out I have to leave for a couple of hours also. If anyone knows for sure that the correct answer has been given please feel free to carry on.

Sorry I have been AWOL

I am still in favor of the 18 hour google rule.

The original intent of the game was to share locations and places visited with the community (world wide).
I know most that are active in the game are in the US, but to give equal chance for those who live in Hawaii or Spain a time limit is required.

Remember using Google, Reverse Image Search, or reading the GPS information of the photo posted defeats the purpose of the game.
It is to take a journey to the destination with them through hints, stories, and additional pictures which keeps the game going.
Yes that makes it harder on the person that post the pic, but in doing so you take everybody along on your experience.

Unfortunately, it appears we are headed towards another lock down or more restrictions on movement due to the germ...so there is no need to get in hurry - we ain't going anywhere.

Of course that it just my input.

Tom, I'm good with all that and thanks again for starting this adventure.

Fran, I'll guess King's Mountain?

Beerman has the right city so I guess that would make him the winner. Do you know what the location is?

Beerman is correct. The monument in the center is the site of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.

Continental Europe, but no buildings, mountains behind it. Rick's photography is always great.
But is the background photoshopped of details? duh I don’t think TomB has a rule about that?

Not photoshopped. I did a spot edit to remove a flag on the dome and 2 shields on the gates

Les Invalides, Paris is correct!! Time didn't allow us to go into the Musee de l’Armee or see Napoleon's tomb, maybe next time!

Zanshin you are up!!

I'll remain on the topic of grand buildings.

I worked in this location for a year, and this picture was taken on my daily walk to work; my hotel was on the other side of this edifice and right up next to the walls in a building as old as this one. Fortunately, the plumbing had been modernized...

Holy Moly someone stole the flag 😉

Would this castle be on the Neckar River?

Hello TomB - although I use Adobe Lightroom to manage my images and have Adobe Photoshop, I used MS-Paint to hide the flag smile. This isn't on the Neckar River, here's a picture taken from the same location looking 180° from the first.

I got that bike for the equivalent of $15 and rode it around all over the place, including this location located in the same town, but a different body of water. And this time I used photoshop to obfuscate the writing on the building.

TomB: No, this is not the home of that famous Bard, although you do have the correct country.
jphrart: These are called "narrowboats" for a reason. I almost bought one so that I could tour the country at a leisurely walking pace. Here's that double-lock when filled.

Where I live in Worcester is on the River Severn, right by where the Worcester to Birmingham Canal joins the Severn. That narrow boat is from the Alvechurch Boat Company, which is based about 15 miles up the canal. However, the canal isn't the Worcester - Birmingham as the lock operating mechanisms are the wrong type. They do have other bases but I don't know where they are. So a pure guess to start homing in on the location... The Grand Union Canal.

The canal is part of the Gand Union Central (1 lock of 166...) but the goal is to identify the city in which the edifice in the first picture is.
P.s. I once worked just up the road in Rednal.

I'd forgotten about the original photo which I couldn't identify at all. Now with all the clues though I know it to be Warwick Castle. I've been there but don't remember the river.

When were you in Rednal? I lived just up the road in Kings Norton when first married and then just down the road in Bromsgrove for many years.

Warwick castle is correct! I lived right on the castle walls and worked at nearby British Gas.

I was in rednal recently, doing a gig for a big food and hospitality company. The whole Birmingham area was nice

Right. I'll try to find a new photo. Don't have access to my full library at the moment.

While you are all waiting, here's more info on Warwick Castle

An easy one I think...

No, not Montserrat. Below is another, perhaps better known, harbour on the same island. I'm hoping for the name of the harbour in the original photo.

The last picture is perhaps Shirley Heights, Antigua? But I personally don't know the name of any other harbors in Antigua..

It is indeed Antigua. A very 'happy' (there's a clue) place for yachties.
