A poster in one of the Facebook groups posted of a problem she had when she filed her form. She and her husband had both taken their PCR tests, received their negative results, and were scheduled to fly out today. She filled out both forms in exactly the same way, sent them both in, and received an approval for her husband and a denial for herself. She checked all the information and sent hers in again, more than once, and each time received a denial. She sent several emails to the Minister, with no response. Finally, she used a different email address for herself (she had used the same email address for both herself and her husband originally), and received the approval. Apparently they will only send one approval per email address, I suppose to reduce fraud?

Just a heads up, as I may have done the same thing.

It's interesting, I wonder if they recently changed their procedure on that, as I would think this would have come up before, as a lot of people would have done it the exact same way. If that's going to be the policy, there should be something on their webpage that says that. I'm confused how that would have any effect against fraud regardless, as the name on the approval would have to be same as on the ticket, but whatever.

Marc sent our applications this past Wednesday night. He did his first, with no problem. When he submitted my application, he thought that he forgot to attach my covid test results. So he submitted my application a second time. He used his email address on both applications. We received 3 approval notices from SXM about three hours later.

We fly out tomorrow and are overnighting in Boston tonight. Iā€™m so happy and excited right now!

I know you will deal with whatever and the island needs the rain but....... so often you get so much more than your fair share in your trips. Wishing you a safe and wonderful stay.

It sounds like there was a different reason for that person's problem then. Who knows? Glad you got yours through.

We are supposed to land October 24 and stay for 20 days. I filled out the form for my husband and had some difficulty using the drop down box. For the question about our nationality, the only "close" answer provided was United States. Actually the correct answer is American, but it is not on the list. In some drop down boxes you can change your answer, in others you cannot. I appreciate the info about email addresses. I will try that. It appears the form may have been borrowed from another agency. I am referring to the very top of the form which references "Payment".

My husband and I probably will not go to SXM if the Council votes to invoke the travel insurance policy. We have Covid-19 coverage though Oregon Blue Cross Blue Shield. I just talked to them and they will pay any medical bills incurred in SXM, whether Covid-19 or otherwise. Our Allianz policy will cover required medical flights back to the States.

We have been traveling yearly to SXM since 1998 only missing two years due to hurricane re-build. We have become close friends to our neighbors at Beachside Villas (Wingman) and UPS man and Judy. We have contributed to the economy many timers over. The required trip insurance contemplated by SXM is like a slap in the face.

Can someone please tell me when the Council plans to vote on this egregious money raising effort?

Actually on your passport the Nationality is stated as "United States Of America" There is North America and South America hence the needed United States.

Okay then - I hate to admit it but Iā€™ve gotten lost in this thread. Can a husband and wife use a shared email address or MUST you each have your own?

The person who posted in the Facebook group seemed to think that was her problem; when she used a different email address, hers was approved. However, jomarc posted that they used the same email address with no problems. So, yes...."Who knows?" I'm going to use different email addresses, just to eliminate that as a possible problem.

Thanks, Georgia.

John has an email address but never uses it ergo neither of us can remember what it is. When the time comes, Iā€™ll try it using mine and if that doesnā€™t work then Iā€™ll do a little hunting around his cell phone until I find his. One more thing to think about but at this point, one more is like nothing! šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜Š

It's easy to create a gmail address, which will probably be less trouble than finding an old address. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=how+to+create+a+gmail+account

Pam, I wish all of you a wonderful trip, with no more obstacles!
We would have seen you this time, seeing that you are staying 20 days, but had to cancel.

I was wondering how many of the Oct/Nov group, with Michael, were able to go.
Enjoy! Write reports---post pictures---in between relaxing!!!

We will be back in April!!!!!!!!!!!
