Following this as well.
Our only option in Northern Ontario is thru the Health Unit. The only guidance they will give is that they try to have the results back within 5 business days. I also emailed the health department in SXM and asked them if our test results were not back in time, would testing at the airport upon arrival in SXM be an option. They replied within a few hours and were clear that we could not travel to the Island without a valid negative test.
Our plan is to travel on November 12th and West jet is still showing flights beginning November 5th. That could still change as September flight were cancelled, then October flights were cancelled. It's not looking good but we are still hopeful.

Hey there, BillS, there are four of us on that WS flight as well.... very concerned that with the increase in testing (here in Toronto at least) the labs are becoming overwhelmed, and that return time will get too long for us to make it. Also, the possible return to stage 2 may change things.....and the 14 day quarantine upon return......sigh.......

I have done the covid test , 4 days to get result . Depending your departure day , this could be an issue .
The provided documentation from the Health dept does not meet Sxm published Requirement .
In fact the document which is printed online doesn’t even identify your name or what particular test was given .
Lots of questions

Called Westjet today as I am booked for November 15, customer service said that any cancellations in November will be announced by the middle of October. The COVID-19 test will also be a problem unless SXM extend the five day requirement to seven or eight.

What good would 7-8 due to protect the island? You could contact that virus easily in that period of time and show up at airport with it.

Correct....you could get it anytime after testing..at home, in the airport, on the plane...anywhere

It is just an attempt to minimize the potential for arrivals being positive....not much else you can do

You can get Covid the day after your test So what is the big deal ? I guess we should get tested every day ... The answer Is social distancing, small bubble , hand wash , masks and be smart ..

I met a Rico back in 2004,5 at some pool , think Sapphire .....perhaps the same dude .
