Sorry, which means what? The gendarmes have said they will not enforce the Prefet's edict?

That sure does sound like good news for us . We have 5 couples going to SXM in late Nov. early Dec. First week is a villa on the French side . ( good news #1 ) Second week we will be on the Dutch side .
Now that we have 5 days to get our Covid test that makes it much easier . ( good news # 2 ) Problem is we have over 2 months before we go .......... So a lot of things can change many times by then !!!
So Kenny if all goes well you will be getting an e-mail from us for at least 3 cars . Keeping our fingers crossed .

If your motto is ; If at first you don't succeed......
Maybe it would be best not to try sky diving !

Also we just got approved for two loans via Qcredits and the World Bank. Thanks very much and we are not sleeping even though times are tough.

Not trying to start a debate on when this crisis might end or anything. Currently we have plans for November and working on going as well in December to make up for lost time. This is starting to feel real again.
More than happy to shelter in place in St Maarten, thank you.

We all have to live regardless which part of the World we are from . But we just got to keep going. We have our children in Canada and they are making the best of it. Our Daughter is getting marry next year and our Son is in his third year of Visual Arts and Graffic Designs. Just prayers and positivity what we all need .

What a Grrrrrreat Day! Enjoy the whole island! Hooray to all those who did the right thing and stood up to the powers that be. I am so happy. Have a great day! November looks to be a beginning to a busy tourist season.

Talked to people that participated and they were quite pleased with everybody's friendly behavior. Gendarmes and police were very friendly and several businesses provided free food. They were disappointed by some of the politicians not really wanting to open the borders.

Bob--My understanding is that the Prefet was the only one who didn't want to open the borders, as local politicians from both sides of the island joined in the march, according to the news stories. Were you told something different?

Yup...I think I should have a Constitution right to ignore stop lights and speeding limits...and seat belts...and I should be able to bang one down while driving....YOUR rights vs. other peoples rights to a safe environment....go for it! and if you are COVID positive why should YOU stay at home....be free It's your right

(sarcasm)

Edit...no clue what the above post has to do with SXM
