Cheap date in SXM. Whats a few hours enduring Spirit each way to see your island.

I'm pretty sure that $139 is pretty close to 100% of the taxes/fees/honoraria of the trip. I seem to recall around 100ish for the SXM-US charges.
ETA: I just checked my invoice for our cancelled March trip--$172.15 in fees, but was SFO-SXM, GND-SFO.

Good price but then there is the cost and hassle of covid test along with the possible retesting cost at PJIA. Along with all that is going on with closures not really a great date value. Let alone on Spirit.

COVID testing (and possible retesting) cost is a given for ANY date so far so that's a wash. Closures will be a pain....no clue how long that will go. Spirit ...well you know what you are getting. Can't beat the price though

The flight from FLL to Sxm ain’t that long. If I lived within a few hours of FLL I’d get my nasal swab and go.

Ive never flown Spirit, but ive flown Allegiant, Valujet, Airtran and Frontier with no issues. Southwest is the worst for me with their seating scheme.
All airlines suck, some suck less.
This can be said of every airline on some day that Ive flown them.
“Two tickets to paradise for $278.00” eddie money would be proud.

Yea no. I will never fly Spirit again. They left me stranded in STT one year. They took off so late from FLL. They were waiting for their other flight to come in. So we were delayed in FLL for them to get the connection people they booked. I don't know why that was allowed. I had to take Caribbean Air to get home to SXM. Spirit is horrible. i

Are people not concerned about getting into a metal cigar with other possible covid carriers? I would not go anywhere in a plane if they paid me the $139 dollars!!!

Incredible deal! American Airlines has $55 dollar one way fares Mia to sxm in September and October. We just spent a week on sxm and going back in November. With everyone required to have a negative covid19 test and masks i’m at more risk probably driving in my car to the airport than from flying on a airplane now. But it’s a matter of personal risk limit but to us it’s the best time to travel. We’re not high risk and we take reasonable precautions. Once on sxm we are on the beach , open air restaurant or in our hotel rooms. Actually a lot more tourists on sxm Than we expected and locals happy to see business coming back.

forever--I didn't find that price, but found $177 round trip, which is a pretty darn good deal.
Edit--Found it! If you book one way, the flight down is $55, but the return is like $133, so it's same deal. Taxes are a lot more on the return.

That 55.00 one way fair might not have reflected the port fee for the return flight which is always more expensive on the return leg.
