Does anyone remember if Andy’s Pasta Fagioli had any tomatoes in it. It brings back some good memories, but not good enough to remember if it had tomatoes in it.

Now that are some good memories at Baywatch, I do not remember if the Fagioli had tomatoes.

I remember the mango pizza was fantastic, almost as great as the sunset views.

Sunset views at Baywatch? And mango pizza? Are you pulling our leg, Mr. Tim? There was the one on Orient that definitely didn't have sunset views, and the one there in Cul de Sac, and I don't think you could see a sunset there either. Now, Surf Club South, sunsets for sure! And mango pizza? Sounds weird to me!

well, as i get older I get more and more confused, but I am pretty sure My wife and i had dinner a few times at a place called Baywatch that was overlooking the water right where Bliss is now behind Sunset Beach Bar, this would have been at least 10-12 years ago. But clearly I am not talking about the same place you all are.

Huhm, I don't remember a place on the Dutch side called Baywatch, but again, my memory isn't what it used to be either.

I think briefly, and a long time ago, there was a short-lived place in that area named "Baywatch". I think it was a take off of the TV show from what I recall. It was not any time recent. Perhaps someone else will recall as well.

Yes, the sign out front was totally the same font as the show title. But still not the place you all are talking about. LOL but they did have a great Mango pizza, lol

There was a place called Baywatch on the Dutch side (early 2000s as I recall) a few years after Andy and Cheryl had moved to Orient from Cul de Sac. They (Dutch side Baywatch) wanted Andy to change the name of his restaurant claiming a copyright infringement or something similar. I won’t mention what Andy said but anyone who knew him can imagine. Don’t know if it ever got into legalities but the Dutch side Baywatch was short-lived. John

John--yes, I sort of remember that now. I think the person on the Dutch side claimed they were franchised or something from the TV show. The concept of copyright infringement on SXM in general is laughable. Remember the Midea$$ Muffler shop?

We got a burger there at the trailer one time, a long time ago. That's about the only time I remember going to a fast food place on SXM. Somehow, it didn't count as a fast food joint because it was in a trailer!

In answer to your original question concerning tomatoes in Andy's Pasta Fagoli,....A friend who loved that dish says she didn't remember tomato chunks in the dish, but it did, she thought, have a pinkish stock which she said could mean tomato paste was used.

I will never forget the bloody mary and mimosa parties on Sunday morning in Gran Case at Surf Club South. Wild and noisy and across the street from a church. Great bartenders - a remember one called "snake." Good thing they didn't have DUI check points in those days. The move to Cul-de-sac changed it - never the same. Oh to be young and reckless again as we were in SXM in those days!

Norm, thanks for the input. I do not remember any tomato’s in it either but just not sure. It was the first one I had that was not tomato based as most are in the Midwest. It was very good. I am sure it had some special ingredients in it. We sure had some good times there, and miss it. Our July trip got cancelled and not sure when we will get to return.

I never had the Pasta e Fagiole at Baywatch. I make an excellent Pasta e Fagiole, which my wife loves, and which contains crushed tomatoes. There are a ton of recipes online. Pick one, try it, and adjust for the next time.
My only advice is that the ditalini pasta will suck up every drop of the chicken stock, which is a main ingredient in most recipes. Split the soup before you add the stock, use half of the stock for the soup which you plan to eat tonight, and save half of the soup and half of the chicken stock for tomorrow.

Always loved Baywatch, both locations. Andy had the best mussels. We would visit in the AM to have coffee and just relax. Great times, nice people.
