Yikes! It's a brand new ship! We have friends scheduled to be on her in November. They will be watching this with bated breath!

I know. Someone on cruisecritic said that she had already had some type of power outage before this, which I hadn't heard about. I would be sweating bullets if I was supposed to be on the cruise which is supposed to depart next--Wednesday, maybe??

We had trouble flushing the toilet and with the safe. We know of others who had trouble with their toilet as well. I do not believe this ship will sail next week. If they come into port in naples Tuesday then proceed to Barcelona for repair...it won't even get to barcelona until the weekend if it never stops on the way. Not sure I would want to be on it next week even if they do get it repaired...lol

I agree, I doubt it will sail, but the problem is that Princess hasn't announced it will not sail, so people who are scheduled on the next sailing are between a rock and a hard place..

latest update says it will sail on time but the people have to get off now.

That would suck ROYALLY Princess. They will miss Naples/Pompei , Rome, Livorno (Florence/Pisa), French stop and Barcelona.

I for one would rather they fix it while I sit on her and if they have to skip the French port to get to Barcelona, fine.

I'd be fuming unless they offered a one for one replacement cruise with airfare. Nothing like HALF a Grand Mediterranean.

As I read USATODAY, they get a full refund and 25% credit. I bet that doesn't count airfare unless you boaught thru Princess. I know our last minute deal last year the airfare was more than cruise fare.

I'm fuming for them. I was just reading where Carnival Corp is hurting and this sure don't help on one of there better lines. It seems to me they need to put some spare parts and engineers, mechanics onboard. They run these things like houseboat rentals on a lake where you call for a tow. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/cloud.gif" alt="" />

CathyG --- I'd say. you got lucky to get your cruise completed.

Pelicanpirate...believe me...I am counting my lucky stars!

You know...this ship was commissioned in June...and it was amazing how much it already looked "used". I expected pristine and absolutely beautiful. While it is a beautiful ship...I was not overwhelmed by it. There was rust on the outside...especially on our balcony. There were marks on the wall in the closet. It just was beginning to look tired all ready and many of the staff was what I will call disgruntled?

a story...every evening after dinner we went to crooners...a piano bar in the atrium...to have a martini. We are not martini drinkers...but we decided to try a new one each night to broaden our horizons...lol

Every night we had the same waiter from Serbia. He was a delightful young man...and we tipped him well for his hospitality each night...we were the only ones in Crooners. and he would stand and talk to us...and give us the scoop on things...lol

About a week into the cruise...we were having our nightly martini...and the bar tender...rudely came over and repromanded our waiter. It made us so uncomfortable....we never went back. I felt so badly for him. He had told us that he was due to get off the ship after the next cruise. He was going to be on vacation for two months...then reassigned to a different ship. There was a female singer in the atrium for the first week. She was replaced by a male singer for the second week. According to the waiter...she too was reassigned. As the cruise progressed...we heard about more and more kids that were leaving after the next cruise...which would be the one that is now cancelled.

Things that make you go hmmmmm?
