I am working up a plan for next year's trip to the BVI. I see that there are no longer non stop flights from Boston to STT. It looks like connecting will be required at least for now. I'm sure as the govts start reopening countries there will be a change to airline schedules. Has anyone seen anything on this in print anywhere? Do we think STT flights will be back next year?

I presume maybe you mean nonstop flights from Boston, as there definitely are flights into STT from other places, like Miami.

We flew Boston to STT a couple of times but I believe it was only high (winter) season and they dropped it in other months..so it may well depend on when you want to go. Otherwise connections through Charlotte or Miami are easy on AA..

Malcolm, there were always several non stops BOS-STT. Jet Blue, AA etc. Since the covid schedule pull down you need to connect through ATL, JFK, MIA, SJU. Takes 7 or 8 hours instead of 4. Which is an issue for trying to get on and off the boat the same day as the flight. It can be done it's just a rough day. Wanted to tap the knowledge base here to see what people know.

Right now there is an average of one flight a day direct CLT to STT and back. When things return to normal there are usually 2-3 per day.
Go Irish!!

In Jan 2020 when I booked for April 2020, CLT to STT only one nonstop out and back. Last year, 2019, there were 3! Not sure what will happen after COVID is less of an issue but for 2021 appears to be one only.

I wonder if BVI will do what the EU has done and allow Europeans and Canadians into BVI and not US residents - it may mean that we'll have to fly to SXM to come in.

I'm stupid here, but how does getting to SXM help you? If the BVI does not allow flights by US citizens directly into the BVI, how is flying into SXM first going to help you, as you are still a US citizen. The entry requirements for US citizens going into SXM are changing yet again, by the way. Some type of insurance is now mandatory, although it's not clear what type of insurance. There is a news conference scheduled for this afternoon.

Carol, I believe he's a Canuck. Winair normally flies SXM to Beef.

Oh, ok. Sorry. I was somewhat shocked to read yesterday that Florida has more Covid 19 cases than ALL of Canada.. BUT since SXM would be allowing US citizens in, wouldn't the BVI then bar any flights from SXM to the BVI??
Yes, Winair has flown that route in the past (if they survive this thing...)

Hi Carol - Yes Canadian all the way - there are direct flights from Toronto and Montreal to SXM - we've done it in the past and just chartered to EIS or VG airport (when available) - the only hassle is going through SXM C&I before catching the charter - no transit lounges. cheers Brian

As of now, I don't think there are any flights from Canada into SXM? I thought they were only in the winter?
