Well...our December 2020 trip to Antarctica looks less likely to happen every day so we decided to change our CSS trip from December 2021 to April 2021 leaving December open in case we have to reschedule Antarctica to December 2021.

We have rebooked CSS for April and Antarctica for December 2021

It looks like Jamaica is doing well. A negative covid test is required but no quarantine is required. I am hoping we will have our covid vaccination by our April trip.

Crazy/Bizarre times for worldwide travel especially big plans like you make.

Have all the cruiselines/agents been pliable with changing plans and so forth?

We have been planning a post retirement world cruise for years and now it is here and we get this. That cruise will be more the circumnavigation than the quick stops it will make but the thoughtof sailing for 2 weeks and be denied entry to a port might be too much.

So that trip will have to be a post-vaccine affair.

Are you still thinking about going. We are booked the same week and I don’t like the new test to get back. If I or my wife get a positive ( false positive maybe ) what is the situation for quarantine or getting back? I don’t want two more weeks sitting in a room at Couples.

We are considering that as well but for now we are leaning to go visit daughter in Italy if Europe is open. We cancelled Couples last week.

We cancelled an NCL cruise February 20 2021, and we have moved our Jamaica trip 3 times, and we cancelled our Baltic cruise in August. We have a new England road trip in September that we rescheduled from 2020. We have Jamaica in November that we rescheduled and we have our Antarctica trip in December that we rescheduled from 2020.

Since our remaining trips are in the 4th quarter...I am hopeful we will be able to take them. I am certain we will still have to wear masks and testing will be required before we fly...but I am hoping there will be no quarantines and other countries will open up to Americans.

Nice trip. You will be an official “leaf peeper “ when you are done. Depending on how long you are on Cape Cod you are close to the ferry to either Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket. White Mountains and Stowe should be in peak September. Packing will be a challenge as you may hit high 80’s to low 30’s.

I know you are booked on everything but if I was to change one thing it would be to skip Boston and go up 128 from the cape and stay in Rockport. I don’t like city stops on road trips. Too much hassle with the car. Just my thought.

I have never been to Boston...so it is pretty important. We will only stay one night there...We are booked at the Fairmont Copley...I want to do the freedom trail and eat at Union oyster house. The next day we will go to Salem on our way to Brunswick Maine.

I used a couple of Tauck New England trips as my guide.

I think I like the name Leaf peeper!! lol That was the goal...to go in the fall. This will finish all 50 states for us. Our 50th state will be Vermont.

Well the Copley Plaza is pretty special. Lots of history there. Hit Newbury Street about two blocks from your hotel for shops and food Freedom Trail is fun. Stop at Mikes Pastry for cannoli in the North End.

We have a picture in our family room from about 34 years ago of the wife and I sitting at the bar at the Union Oyster House. When I was a freshman in college in Boston my roommate took me there for my first oyster. 1976! Even if you have to wait or be the first one in, sit at the original bar downstairs. That’s the experience. Enjoy, if you have never been then it is important.

Well...it looks like this trip is a GO! We go Saturday for our rapid antigen covid test...15 minute results. We have filled out the paperwork for Jamaica and already received the approval, We have had 3 covid shots. Our flight is 5:55am Monday morning for a week of rest and relaxation in sunny Jamaica. Now we cross our fingers that American Airlines does not cancel our flight.

WE have changed this trip three times...I have to pinch myself that it is really happening

Have fun. We still haven’t booked a return to San Souci. Some of our crew have gone but we have stayed in the States. We went to Maine in August and saw 8 of our San Souci group. Was lots of fun.
I saw on FB that Bryon has moved on from the resort, bummer.
Looking forward to your trip report and honest assessment of the resort.
