We should have been on the island for a week now, but needless to say, that never happened. Each day Carol and I talk about what we would have done that day and pretend we are sitting on the beach or visiting on the boardwalk. We try to think of what we might have had to eat and make the same thing for our meals at home. We have had a couple of nice days in Lancaster, PA and have been able to sit in the sun on our back deck and listen to the waterfall on our pond as we read a book or nap. If we close our eyes tight enough, the water going over the waterfall sounds like the waves. But, the wood deck is tough on the feet in comparison to the sand. Can we take it for 2 more weeks? We have rescheduled for the last two weeks of Oct. and first week in Nov. and will hope it will work out. If not....well....it is going to work out fine we keep telling ourselves. I know we can wait until next year, but that's assuming we will be here next year. Life will go on...and we're hoping we will be part of it until then! We have to be, since we have a deposit paid for our spot in Orient Village. See you on the beach!

We were also scheduled to be there now. everyday we discuss what we would be doing at any given moment, We were staying in the village at Orient.
Beach from 8:30am to 3:30pm, back to the condo for a shower and a beverage, then to dinner in the village followed by a drink at Bikini. Go to bed and start over with the same itinerary every day. Also, fresh croissants and OJ for breakfast everyday.

We have just started our third full day in St. Martin in our minds. Our front deck at the lake is now named “Orient”, our bar is the Northern “Perch Lite” (also known as Margaritaville) and the water.will be our ocean. Water temperature currently under 40 degrees necessitates the hot tub for our dips in the h2o.
Can you tell we are missing our vacation? Hoping our rescheduled trip will happen in mid November.
carib cheers , stay well, doctorj

This would be our second week on the island. Tomorrow we would be spending the day with Capt. Neil on his beautiful catamaran. Having a nice frozen drink, eating his fabulous food and floating on a raft and enjoying the beautiful water of the caribbean. Dam Covid.... Oh well, we will be there as soon as possible. Also, sitting up on the bridge chatting with the Capt.

Sad when your trip tp SXM is cancelled, even postponed. Hope October/November works out for you. Glad you have a good imagination, ......but it's not the same.
Next SXM visit -November 2023. Also January 2024.

Based on what has been written here, I think everyone should write their "fantasy trip report" and post it for the enjoyment of all. It might prove to be therapeutic in these trying times.
