Oh that makes me so happy! As an owner at Divi, I really did not want to see that building going up. It was too big for the space!

Not sure what's going on with that. Don't understand why it was revoked, although it's not unusual for permits to be granted when they shouldn't be.

It was rushed into signing. They have build to a regular standard and then they will be approved.

Lesley--what is the problem with how it was to be constructed?

Just watch...it will go to Appel court and panel of judges and be overturned. I am pretty sure that is the Judge that is back on SXM now and known for making horrible judgments without taking the time to understand the case. I don't care one way or the other but it will be better than what was already there and SXM needs those Jobs>

Well, logic would say that the size was way too big, but logic doesn't often apply here.

I'm a Divi owner too and was surprised by the proposed size of Planet Hollywood given the small lot area and very limited parking. Also, the road the passes that area is the only route that allows a legal turn into Divi. It was hard to envision how the road would be able to handle all the increased traffic that the large new building would create without resulting in a constant jam of traffic in the area.

lcote--I'm confused, what does Planet Hollywood have to do with Divi? Our timeshare is on the Great Bay side. I was worried about how much noise there would be during construction and then when it became a hotel. The sheer size of that building was also very worrying. Where would people park? Ok, its all inclusive. Maybe many won't rent a car. But still. Does SXM really need a 10 story building? I mean, really? Planet Hollywood should take over the Blue Mall. That monstrosity hasn't been successful.

Planet Hollywood is in a much better location than the Blue Mall and a completely different venue. Not even comparable.

I agree, scubaman. Location has a lot to do with a hotel succeeding.
