I don't log on to the SXM camera portals very often but I just did and I'm almost wishing I hadn't.
How very sad it is to see no planes coming and going at the airport; no boats or ships plying the waters around the island; and so very few cars on the roads. Although if we were there I'd probably be praying for that last but it just breaks my heart to see the island the way it is today. Prayers to and for the people of St. Martin, and for that matter, to the people everywhere who are dealing with this coronavirus situation. sad sad

Respectfully,

pat

I did the same thing, and it was disappointing. This virus is hard on the world, but the people of St. Martin were suffering before this happened.

Just remember. It could
Be worse. These were taken on November 2, 2017 from our condo deck. I can remember the conversation about no planes, no party boats, no jet skis, no sounds coming from Mullet Bay Beach, etc.

It can always get worse but the good news is, the people of the island know how to cope and how to deal with the creations Mother Nature wreaks but I’m not altogether certain anyone knows how to deal with Covid-19. But we’re all trying and when there’s a will, there’s a way.

But in the meantime, your photos are still beautiful.

pat

Yep, very different for sure and this will be a much harder recovery than any hurricane.
