Thanks for posting the link. The PM's justification that alcohol sales were jamming up the grocery delivery process does make some sense, but at least now with all the grocery stores back open as of today, that justification is no more.

Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs told Members of Parliament (MPs) on Wednesday that the sale and purchase of alcohol will be permitted again as of today, Thursday. Supermarkets around the country will be reopening their doors to the public today, Thursday, and tomorrow, Friday. However, consumers are advised to make purchases within their respective districts as much as possible.
The article says that stores will be reopening Thursday and Friday. The Covid 19 update from the PM also stated that Movement would be allowed on Thursday and Friday only.
Residents are reminded that they are ONLY allowed on the public roads on Thursday and Friday. The lockdown resumes in its full measure as of 8pm Friday

LINK 2 DAYSDoesn't make sense but it does imply it is just for 2 days at this time. From the Government Press Release: After several heavy discussions with the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and strategic meetings with the relevant Emergency Support Function (ESF) coordinators, the decision was made to allow persons with urgent and necessary need(s) to access essential services for two days during the lockdown also alleviating the social unrest. Supermarkets have been closed to the public, allowing only for deliveries, which was not being executed as planned. As a result, Prime Minister Jacobs stated on April 14, that she has taken the decision to make amendments to the State of Emergency Nation Decree in order to allow supermarkets and other essential services to open today, Thursday, April 16, 2020, and Friday, April 17, 2020.
On these two dates, the general public is permitted to make use of the public roads from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM in order to purchase food and other essential goods necessary for their basic needs. The businesses allowed to open and provide essential services to the public during the two-day period are grocery stores, bakeries, pharmacies, banks and gas stations between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Funeral home services may be conducted, provided with the understanding that no more than 20 persons are allowed to participate, also taking into account the conditions in article 9 of the State of Emergency National Decree regarding social distancing.

But deliveries resume so what stops alcohol from being included with delivery.

But deliveries resume so what stops alcohol from being included with delivery. Part of the reasoning for stopping alcohol sales before was it was taking time to pull those orders, people were not ordering "necessities" and it was clogging up the system. I have no idea if alcohol sales will be allowed for delivery orders after today or not. They may be or they may not be, I guess we will find out.

So, how long after tomorrow will the lockdown continue? The grocery thing is a big problem, for people not to be able to obtain groceries and they have conceded that delivery does NOT work.

I am listening to her address from yesterday. She has thrown out the term "a few weeks" and I have not heard the alcohol issues mentioned yet. SXM GovernmentApril 16 is the latest address. She mentions about 2:00 min. from the end about "3 days in the coming weeks" for people to get out and get essentials
More information and clarification to come today and in the near future.

Lesley--OK, thanks. That's not bad. Hopefully this will ease the pressure on the deliveries, so that people that want deliveries so they can stay home, will be able to get them.

Next week , Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Hmmmm...so their plan is to concentrate everyone in stores for 3 days a week instead of just spreading visits out over a week. I don't get the rational behind that thought....but there must be a reason I am not privy to....I hope

Good luck and stay safe

It is fine "in your area" because there are way less people there than on the rest of the island. If the groceries were open every day--maybe closed on Sunday, I don't know--people would not feel that they had to all be out at the same time. If you can be open three days why not 6 or 7?? Hopefully people can buy what they need and continue to stay at home until the country is in a position to change the rules.

I think 3 days is adequate. Problem before were people going every day just to buy an item or two.
