No one allowed to be on the road for two weeks. Stores closed. Pharmacies, shipping and garbage services can continue.
I'm sure more details will come with formal release

Yes. Everything pretty much closed, 24 hour curfew. Details tomorrow in another press conference with French side so we will find out about borders and if they will make any changes. Lots of questions, we just got a broad stroke this evening.

But the PM said that after the first week , they look into the Supermarket issue because a lot of people are usually paid late for their monthly salaries.

Not sure how no grocery/pharmacy’s is doable.
People have to be able to get food and medicine.
Unless everybody had ample time/supply to stockup, even in a drastic shutdown the supermarkets and pharmacies need to operate.
Even in China, Italy this was permitted.
Some Stores in US now Prohibiting children, implementing 1 way walking on aisles, limiting number of bodies in store and distances in line waiting outside. No browsing. Get in and get out.
Agree, maybe if people start to get the importance they relax essentials only.

Tons of notice and warnings. We were told weeks ago to prepare like for hurricane season. And people kept partying.

Not a lot of common sense being used these days by those who prefer the life of drama. Plenty of real life drama without the hearsay.

To end the Lockdown the SXM Government rather than starving their people should have everybody wear a mask, everybody take zinc + vitamin D (sunlight), have hydroxychloroquine readily available and start testing asymptomatic people to find the carriers...

We can't even get them to stop partying, THAT is why we are on lockdown. And starving their people is a big stretch.

To end the Lockdown the SXM Government rather than starving their people should have everybody wear a mask, everybody take zinc + vitamin D (sunlight), have hydroxychloroquine readily available and start testing asymptomatic people to find the carriers... Another uncalled for and unsubstantiated post that is nothing but conjecture on your part and has NO FACTS behind it. Nobody has starved yet to my knowledge and I am sure there are outlets for those in need on SXM, just like there is here. Groceries are supposed to be open for "emergencies". I would think being without food for a few days might be classified as an "emergency". And, the residents have been given ample warning this might be coming. You really need to tone down your rhetoric on some of this stuff. I also took a good and long look at SMN News facebook page over the weekend. The "reporter" even admits to NOT having press credentials. From what I could surmise, it is mostly radical opinion by one person and most of it NOT backed up by any FACTS whatsoever. If you want to use that as your "news" source, that is up to you but there are a lot better sources out there that actually post FACTS and not opinion. As Elaine stated, the "lockdown" is due to people not obeying the orders and continuing to party. I am going to post a link below, it is NOT SXM but Cincinnati OH over the past weekend and maybe you will understand WHY some extreme measures are being taken. MAN ARRESTED CINCINNATI OHYouTube video of the same "event". WARNING VULGAR LANGUAGE CORONA VIRUS PARTY VIDEO

Not enough test kits to accomplish that on island and that drug is still debatable.

Plus 1, with regard to both statements. As well as there not being nearly enough of it available to do what he wants to do with it.

Thank you, Elaine, for sharing and to you, too, Julius for sharing it again. I don't think anyone will be driving through that. It just amazes me that people can be so very selfish as to jeopardize not just their own health and safety but that of everyone they might inadvertently come into contact with.
It's so simple - JUST STAY HOME - and if people had done that, these extremes wouldn't be necessary.
Respectfully,
pat

Just watched two live videos one on French Side, one on Dutch. A handful of cars between lowlands and Philipsburg and no pedestrians. French side bumper to bumper traffic on road thru Savanne. Seems like we will never win.

No problem. Stupid is putting it mildly. I would really like to get out of this thing as soon as possible. Below is a link to what one of the county prosecutors had to say about it. This is about an hour from where I live. SIT YOUR BUTT IN JAILElaine, thanks for the links.

That is why I left New York two months ago... New York is a place you do not want to be during this plandemnic. Many people will die and many are too stupid to listen to reason. I love Vermont! Everyone is taking this serious and everyone had masks on including me at the market today. God Bless America!
