Hello, my fiancee and I are planning our honeymoon to the VI this coming winter, and are staying on STJ for 2 nights. When I looked into reserving a rental car, it seems the only way possible is if it's more than 4 days.

Anyone have any info on short term rentals?

Most of the St. John rental companies will only take advanced bookings on longer rentals. You might try back closer to your date maybe a month out or so. Even then they may not be willing. You should be able to find a rental once you arrive.

Good to know. We plan on getting to STJ from STT early in the morning, we're hoping for a quick process so we can enjoy as much as we can.

Given that "ilon time" is a very real phenomenon - particularly on St. John - I'd try to have something lined up before I walked down the dock in Cruz Bay. You mentioned you're staying for two days, if you're at either the Westin or Caneel they should be able to set you up with something. If you're in a villa, the management company might be able to help as well.

Flotsam

Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.

You can take most rental vehicles from St. Thomas to St. John on the car barge. This saves time and money if you have a stay on STT to start the trip.

We'll be camping at CBC. Would prefer a car to get around, but could probably manage via taxi. We plan on hiking the majority of the time...the relaxation part will be Cooper/Virgin Gorda.

It's never a problem to get a taxi at CBC.
