This boat has been sold out for some time on the Paul Gauguin
All the airline ways to get to Bali are falling through and who knows whether they get back online for all Pax by mid May. Same for return out of Fiji. Can the boat go to all its neat stops including Guadalcanal or will it have to pass by/substitute others.
These aren’t cheap cruises (like 1000$ a day for two and it hasn’t cancelled yet. If the cruise line cancels, It would seem the refund is pretty simple. But if the boat is ready to sail, but no one can get to it, who takes the hit, the Pax or Bn?

I believe those that purchased trip insurance when they booked the Cruise will fare best. I don't know if the Bare Necessities will accept the responsibility if the passenger is unable to get there, unless the air fare and cruise were booked through BN as a package deal. However, with changes every day in the Coronavirus situation, who knows what can happen. Good Luck, maybe things will start to stabilize by then enough that reliable air transportation can be booked.

Friends booked on this cruise are very upset with the SILENCE from Bare Necessities and Paul Gauguin essentially going “run silent, run deep” he says by not returning/answering calls/emails.
The airline pathways to Bali to catch the boat have all collapsed, nothing can be booked, they are two months out.
PG needs to cancel the cruise for 2020 or reschedule the exact same cruise for a much later date where proper travel arrangements to/from ports can be made.
They have been loyal BNers all of this century and they are STUNNED at the silence of both parties.

We received an email from Bare Necessities just yesterday afternoon stating to the effect that if current travel conditions continue for the next thirty days they expect Paul Gauguin will choose to cancel the charter & if that happens those who have paid will be eligible for a refund. Your friends likely received the same email.

Pelican--I have laid a fair amount of criticism over the years to Bare Necessities, for things they could CONTROL and should have thought of. This is not one of those things. I'm sure there was no info from BN because they really didn't know what was going to happen. At this point, BN is probably in the same situation as your average cruiser--if the cruise line cancels your cruise, then you get your money back. And anyone who says they know for sure what the situation with this thing is going to be in 30 days from now is either a liar or a fool, or both.

The one thing the cruisers do know is almost all the flights through all airports to Bali are cancelled. People booked flights long ago and they have collapsed. Many booked new ones at higher expense and they have collapsed. There is nearly nothing bookable flying East or West around the globe to Bali.
Our friends think they should realize the inevitable and push this thing forward into the future.
BN is waiting on PG to cancel they are sure. Obviously contract terms are waiting to be triggered.
I will add they love the PG and go almost every time and will find a way if flights are bookable at some affordable price.

So even if this voyage left from Bali And you good get a flight to Bali and abali would let you you have to get there 14 days early for 14 day entry quarantine, i do t think there is a stop that will let them stop and Fiji is the same so they probably have to stay 14 days if Fiji let them in to disembark and then there are no flights.
Cruise to nowhere with no one. The summer roundtrip out of Venice to croatia and italy looks like a big worry at best.

Finally some communication from BN. The cruise will likely be cancelled on 20 April By PG and that people should cancel any flights/hotels. In the unlikely event the cruise does not cancel they believe that flights/hotels would be easily rebookable.. But at least they made a peep to our friends who have a very large chunk of cash tied up in the trip.
