Are the kiosks for food at the airport still open? We have been told that on our flight home tomorrow only water will be available. Need to know if we should pick something up before we go to the airport. Thanks

They were on Tuesday but this is Friday and it may be totally different. I would pick something up to be sure. The one bar/restaurant I stopped at in ATL thought they may be ordered to close at some point soon, this was Tuesday night.

I think they are talking about the airport in SXM, but regardless, I think that is definitely the safest thing to do, to take some food. Here's the thing though, the last I knew, there are NO water fountains at PJIA. So hopefully regardless you will be able to buy sealed drinks inside security... Has anyone looked on Juliana's web page for info about this issue?

Correct, and that was my first reference, SXM airport options were there on Tuesday but may not be today. I added the reference to ATL as if they do not get food in SXM, there is no assurance they would get it at any connecting airport.

Thank you. We are fortunate to fly direct. We will pick up some sandwiches today and freeze them to take on the plane.

Always stick a couple of powerbars/clif bars in your carry-on luggage.

I know here in WA State that all food courts are closed by order. Even the Costco food court is closed. Probably an individual state by state order.

Likely to keep people from gathering in close groups.

We flew out today. At the SXM airport, all the food booths and bats bars were open. In Newark not so much.

OK, that's good news regarding food at the airport in SXM. They will probably all be closing down anyway, once the big planes have basically stopped.

PandP, I assume you made it home safely yesterday. We are now on the WestJet Flight out of SXM today - long story. Anyway, how was the airport experience at both SXM and YYZ?

SXM was fine. We arrived really early so were able to get seats away from people both before and after checking in. All food options were available in both areas. When we arrived in Toronto we had to wait on the plane about 30 minutes as they were monitoring the crowds in customs. About half of the Nexus machines were out of order. They were passing out customs cards on the plane to Non Nexus holders. I would suggest getting one so that if Nexus is crowded you can use the regular machines. Safe travels.
