Hello all.
I have asked for a link or official site from SXM government with regards to some posts I have seen on Jeff Berger's everything SXM. We, in Canada have not, and I repeat not been informed of this information. I cannot find it anywhere in the form of an official link. I have been told, from the facebook forum that flights from Canada are not allowed to come to SXM for 2 weeks, but nothing in the form of an official sxm government link. That is all I am asking. I know people who said they are flying out next week, as there are no bans in place. Makes me wonder what is going on.
If anyone knows, or has something official, I would love to read it. This entire covid stuff has thrown everyone into a tail spin. Unfortunately.

Yes, the ban applies to Canada also. Has been posted here several times.

Has an actual government official link been posted here? If so where. It was supposedly just imposed in the last day or two, so having trouble finding it

again, that is a Canadian Government link and does not tell me what SXM is banning. WE, as canadians are told to avoid all non essential travel, as well it is highly suggested we get home if we are abroad. Bill and Elaine, posted a travel advisory telling how flights had been banned from SXM effective March 17,, BUT canada was not on that list. This is where I am having difficulty. And travel agents here or some are not aware. What am I missing???

The flights are not banned, the Canadian passengers are banned from entering sxm. The planes are still coming from Canada to pick up people who have return flights back to Canada. I’m one of them, hopefully will be flying back tomorrow.

Yup...Westjet seems to be doing the right thing in sending planes from Toronto to get passengers. This will end on 3/22 and tentatively restart in 30 days . They are also discounting the return fares

So it looks like WestJet and Delta have stepped up to the plate by making some return flights available for at least a week or so

Where did you see they were bringing in extra flights? We were scheduled to fly out on March 31. As of this morning the first available flight is Aril 23! We have emailed WestJet and registered with the Canadian government. If you have information about additional flights please share. Thank you

Pandpfrom canada, this is A&C from your home town. We were able to get an Air Antilles flight from Grand Case airport to St Lucia on Friday and then a WestJet Flight from St Lucia on Sunday to Toronto. We have friends in St Lucia that we are able to stay with. As of now there is still room on the WestJet Flight. Just wanted to let you know in case you’re still looking for a way home.

We are looking and can’t find the St. Lucia airport on the West Jet site. Do you know the code?

Can't you fly to the US and on from there?

Not sure Carol. Not a lot of flights to the USA leaving. Making the best of a stressful situation.

Check today's post of upcoming flights, which includes those to the US and Canada, on the Princess Julianna FB page to see if you might have overlooked a possibility. https://www.facebook.com/sxmairport

IF you can go through the US, which I don't know for sure, that really seems like your best choice right now. Check the sticky post at the top of the forum about flights.

PandP from Canada: have you tried Sunwing? On the Toronto news tonight, the Sunwing rep being interviewed said they are sending planes down to bring people back from St. Martin and will make all unbooked seats available to anyone else who needs them.

Not sure if USA will let non citizens in with new restrictions but Trump did indicate today that boarder crossing to and from Canada is still OK.

A lot is going to depend when many of the virus tests start coming in in the next few weeks. they will identify how bad it is and where the "hot" spots are. If there are "hot" spots near the US borders then probably borders will close. All this will be up in the air till test results come back.
