I received an email at 2:15 this morning, Delta has cancelled the Friday flight. I have not checked further yet but I am guessing any flight they had after Monday (possibly Tuesday) is now cancelled. Friends were on the Wednesday flight and I was on the Friday flight. After being told by the ground agents (not Delta employees) in SXM and also a Delta supervisor in DAY yesterday these flights would go as scheduled, it does not look like it is going to happen.

Have a friend down there now...when I emailed her about cancellations, she said she called Delta yesterday and they told her that her Sunday flight next week was on schedule..and she wasn't concerned...things are changing quickly! Hoping you all find your way home healthy and safe!

Yes, multiple people told by Delta agents and contract agents here in SXM that flight the rest of this week would come in to get US residents out. People were ragging on AA for cancelling but it gave some of them a chance to make changes sooner. I know these are trying times but NO ONE airline is any better than the other and it is proven once again.

The ATL flight that came in yesterday has about 50 passengers. Friends talked to some of them at the airport and one mentioned they were not cancelling their vacation. This may not have been a wise choice.

I have friends scheduled on Delta (ATL) on Wed. and they have NOT yet received a cancellation notice but sadly, I think it is imminent.

Good luck but I would not count on it at this point.

Did you book this though the Delta site? I am looking at Sat. and nothing is coming up.

The "not knowing" what the airlines are going to do is the worst part to contend with. We are scheduled to fly out the 26th on United and we haven't heard anything from them. The only thing they have posted is to wait until 72 hours before your flight to contact them as they are handling other passengers flights before our date. We are planning an extended stay. Thank goodness for retirement!

Yes, I did book on the website. When I looked last night, there were flights available on the 24th, but this morning it was the 28th and now apparently the 31st. Also through SJU on Seaborn, That flight does not allow seat selection so I could not see how much was available.

...and the Seaborne connector only has around 36 seats so anyone trying to get off Island using Delta should make plans NOW....assuming the restriction is not extended

Long Haul usually refers to European and longer flights of 6 hours or more.....so those would be cancelled. AA and Delta have taken those planes completely out of service for that stretch of time

Delta agent in DAY(who was Not very customer friendly) told my wife flights out of SXM would end with the Thursday departure. He also gave her other information that was inaccurate.

I booked United for Wed. IF it flies in here. My wife was at the (ticket) counter in DAY and they would NOT book the flight for me. Told her it had to be done on the 800# or online. I did it online but not 100% at all confident it will happen.

We're on tomorrow's Delta flight to Atlanta also and i haven't received anything saying it's cancelled. I would think we would have heard before the Wednesday flight heard but that could be totally wrong.

Sh*t. Good luck everyone, getting home.. That really sucks, the airlines don't know what they are doing. SXM government is at fault also for not giving more notice.

Supposedly the Delta flights through Thursday are still on at this point. This came from a Delta agent so take it for what it may be worth.

Man, that's aggravating, that they told Ronalee at the airport to stick with your original reservation..

Wow, sorry to hear that. This does not leave me much hope for my Wed. flight on United now.

Bdallas, I think and hope you will be ok.

I got an email in the middle of the night. And now Delta has just sent a second email saying they've booked me on the Wednesday flight through Atlanta (I was on the Wednesday flight through JFK). So it looks to me like they're combining flights to fill them up and accommodate all their passengers. I'm happy with the result, although I had several hours of renewed angst. Much much better than AA who cancelled my Friday flight with no help and no options. Good on Delta.

I was able to pull up departure flights for tomorrow on Delta a couple of times today. I was also just now able to pull up flights for Thursday. Not really sure what the real situation is but from my PERSONAL perspective, IF you are on Delta and have been cancelled, continue to check their website as it seems to come and go as to what is available and when. NO guarantees but I have had flights pop up on 3 days this week that were supposedly not available. It changes rapidly.

Yup..that ATL departure on Wednesday looks like a go ...with MANY empty seats BUT it will help those trying to leave SXM on Wednesday...aircraft fully booked for the Wednesday return to ATL

Good luck and great that you got a seat

Edit: reply meant for BGW

Friends are on the same flight Wed. and no cancellation notice yet.

Wed. is a day past the deadline here for US residents to enter SXM. Only locals or visitors to other islands should be on inbound flights. There should be a LOT of empty seats on any inbound flight after Tuesday.

Yes, it came up as a booking option earlier today and also yesterday but the counter people in DAY said it was cancelled. Perhaps they reinstated the flight. The entire process and information related to it is very strange. I still think the system is not updating properly and accurately. Friday is what I was originally on and got the cancellation notice very early this morning.

The Friday IS toast on the website....guess we'll see if the Thursday goes. I would assume (duh) that the ATL departure is (could be) returning non-US citizens back to the Islands and this IS allowed. The return is also allowed by SXM so maybe.......

Just checked in online for tomorrow's flight to ATL. They were asking for volunteers.
to take a different flight. Date and time to be determined at the airport.
