It appears this is no longer operating. I sent them a facebook message and received the following response. It sure didn't last long (as I suspected) and it sounds like the "owner" left some employees "hanging" for their pay from a couple of posts I saw elsewhere.

SKY DINNER FACEBOOK

"Hello, thank you for your interest. This is an automated message.

Unfortunately, WE ARE CLOSED, for an undetermined amount of time.
"

My thought exactly. I guess the concept is a chain/franchise and there are several locations around the world. Not sure if this venture was an affiliate or what the deal was.

DINNER IN THE SKY

The Caribbean is listed as being available.

JD--were you actually interested in doing it? Or just doing 'research'?? I certainly had no interest in it, but I guess some people will be disappointed they are closed. Seems to me to me too much money spent, to have it closed already??

Just doing a little research based on a post from what appeared to be a disgruntled (unpaid) employee. I like to get some facts before posting something like this so I thought messaging them might open the situation up some. Probably a lot of money spent and probably even more unpaid loans and credit for nothing at this point.

Perhaps they will reopen but one has to wonder.

I know an investor/partner that pulled out. He was very unhappy with the people. They needed an on-island person to sign on as part of the venture in order to get it going, but they were from Canada and VERY unused to the way things are done (or not done) in the Caribbean, particularly St Maarten. They refused to listen to his guidance and opinions.

Kaput!

A person from Canada was mentioned as being involved and basically just packing up and leaving the island and business.

Was never an option for us. I'm terrible at heights. I would always hug the bar on a ski lift chair just to feel secure.

If it's like the others, they lower the platform so you can get off to do your business; then back up again. But the experience was only for 35 minutes.

Not that it matters at this point I guess, but it can't have been 'dinner' in 35 minutes??

You stay on while you eat dinner. It goes up and down to allow those who have finished to get off, and those arriving to get on. wink

I don't think that up and down movement would feel very good while eating for me.

Think I'd rather go to the State Fair, eat a corn dog and ride the Ferris Wheel. Same net effect and cheaper.
