Please don’t do this! Tie to the balls properly.

But it's so much fun starting a betting pool on which parts first, the pennant eye or the mooring line.

Oh George!

Isn't that the official Moorings Knot?

Do you have a close up photo to share?

ok... I'll bite. The image isn't all that clear for me but it looks like they have two lines each going to the pendent eye and back up onto the cleat. Which looks correct to me. So what am I not seeing?

They have a single line from one bow cleat through the pennant to the other bow clear. Watched the boat saw back and forth all afternoon.

George,
Which bow cleats? Difficult to see from your photo.
I’m only familiar w Moorings sail cats, but have seen some use the cleats on the bar between the hulls. duh
Isn’t it preferable to utilize the cleats affixed to each hull?

And of course, I concur the use of two lines to avoid chaffing of a single line.

I use the cleats on the front as chocks for each line with one end of each rope tied to the lateral hull cleats...I have had Moorings briefers indicate it is OK to use the bow cleats but they are in the minority of my briefings and figure better be safe then sorry

Our Moorings cat had lines too short to tie from the hulls. We had to use the forward cleats (despite the warning stickers saying not to.)

It might be that the pendant wasnt pulled up enough...

The 2nd end does get tied to the bow cleats being careful not to bind the other end tied to the lateral cleat and running through the middle of the bow cleat like a chock...
