When is the market open ? Only when ships are in? It used to be traditionally on Wed. & Sat. but if ships are in port, there will likely be some shops/stalls open on other days.

We were in Marigot on a Thursday in early January and the market was overflowing with stands. I don't know how many boats were in port that day, but there appeared to be several bus tours making the market part of their agenda. It was fun to see a real variety of items available for sale, and several stands had things that were nicer in quality, like French linens, than the usual stuff at the stands I've visited in Philipsburg. We bought some nice watercolor prints from a woman who also has a shop in the marina area.

There is women from another island the sells hot sauce, that's all I'm interested in. I will probably stop by tomorrow, there are 3 ships in and it's on my way to the beach.
