We are set to travel back down in July. It's been 2 years since I've tracked airfare prices. Using last summer 2019 as a gauge what prices have you found for DCA/IAD to STT and DCA/IAD to EIS? Thanks!

We do DCA to SJU and then charter SJU to EIS (total Jet Blue $1284 for 4 people)

JetBlue has great flight from DCA to SJU direct

we are in the avoid STT camp and go Monday to Tuesday 8 day trip

Just set up May trip...

Bailau, you found $421 pp to SJU on Jet Blue, then you purchase Seaborne or some other directly for last leg? We've only flew into EIS once, memory is vague. I am currently seeing $641 DCA/SJU via Jet Blue...then Seaborne to EIS. Is that about as good as it gets?

actually cheaper...for 4 people and i didn't choose the cheapest fare as I want to pick my seats...DCA to SJU

Look at Jet blue 1347 down and 1348 back.

https://www.google.com/flights?lite=0#flt=DCA.SJU.2020-05-11*SJU.DCA.2020-05-19;c:USD;e:1;sd:1;t:f

We do charter (Island Birds) because I have 9 and that fills plane. Charter picks up at airport and even though we have sleep aboard 1st night I usually get to base by 1 and am out on the water by 4

I have done Intercaribbean, Seaborne (now Silver), and Cape Air. The advantage of Seaborne/Silver is that it is booked on 1 ticket so they (Jet Blue) have to get you there...the advantage of booking separately is that is much cheaper but you may get stuck

For me living in NOVA STT is a pain and not a direct flight and I have been stuck there many times. SJU has much more choices

Doing the United from Dulles next weekend...was 400. Then private water taxi...was still cheaper than we found to Beef. (Obviously not summer)

Dulles direct to STT?

i think that is usually somewhat cheaper most times

DCA to SJU $321 per above
SJU to EIS is usually about the same so maybe $600 all in

$321 yes, either I fat fingered keyboard or poor math skills on my part ;-). We'll keep an eye on booking separate through SJU as well.

Kirk, that's a great price, we prefer Dulles. So we'll keep looking for fares to drop, fares currently $641 for our dates. Crew of 20 somethings just starting careers, if we can save them a little $$$ we will.

If doing SJU then look at Intercaribbeans website, book directly with them, go down and back off weekend and the fare is $167 under the fare saver...you could also get the cheapest Jet Blue fare and probably be closer to 400-450 all in DCA - SJU- EIS...

Caveat is again by booking separately your first leg carrier (jet Blue) isnt responsible for getting you there all the way

$167 is probably just the one-way fare. We are booked in May and ours is $268 R/T. $99 into EIS and $167 back to SJU.

We have found the best deal to be United from IAD - direct flight to STT (3 1/2 hours ) Was $425.00 per person in January

The biggest surprise I found this year was the increase of Ferry cost - One-way was $50.00 per person and a $10.00 bag charge - I had budgeted $40.00 and $5.00

So total cost person from IAD to Roadtown was $545.00 plus checked bags

Hey Beerman,

Been doing the UA direct roundtrip flight IAD-STT for last couple of years. Very convenient flight times. NonStop!
Chartered out of USVI last couple of trips but back to BVI this year.

Booked for June on the UA IAD 0830 departure and arrives STT at 12:30. No 4 am wake-up calls required.
Return departs STT at 1630 ... arrive IAD 2030

Got down there in May 2019 for $389. Right now the flights in June 2020 are around $550.

Good luck.

Thanks cwoody, I'm watching daily/nightly to try to catch the downswing, July flights to STT are still mid 600. I probably should have pulled the trigger on a $611 flight into Beef...snooze you lose.

Probably because there are still a fair number of seats available. Best not to look once you book!

Any way you can get a current seat map of the your flight. Might be a good indicator of where the price will go.

Yea, continuing to monitor fares after purchasing can only disappoint! ;-)

We do look at the seat maps, good tip!

611 into EIS was a bargain. I have been watching June prices and we paid more. CoronaVirus is having a impact on bookings as many wait to plan vacations to see if it’s brought under control. The airlines are waiting to make fare adjustments for the same reason. Caribbean vacations can become more pricey as people become reluctant to book overseas.
