Definitely on my list with our upcoming March visit. Heard so much about this place can't wait to try it. Many of the locals recommend Sale n Pepe, and it was okay but this restaurant sounds a bit better.

Jax is great. Just much better service eating inside. We have been 4-5 times. Both times we ate outside service was slow and inattentive. Much much better inside. Food still fantastic!

I wasn't blown away by our trip to Jax. Wasn't bad, but wasn't as good as Bajatzu, I didn't think...

Lesley--I'm sure they are. My issue was with the whole experience, and the price. As I said, it wasn't bad at all, just not to ME, as good as Bajatzu..

Carol, agreed. It was just OK. Unfortunately, we sat outside and several times had to go inside and get service. What was or is Bajatzu(perhaps the place before Jax?)
By the way, tried to download a video but it was too large as only 8MB allowed, the one I had was over 100MB. Any other way to do this?

Bajatzu was the steak place that was in the same place before.
Sorry, not sure what you're talking about with regard to a video. If you are talking about uploading here, we only allow pictures, not videos, as far as I know.

Hubby has to limit meat intake so if we decide on steak is the the absolute place to go?

Agree that they are expensive , however at times we spilt a dish too. But we still took our Daughter for Birthday Dec 23rd , five of us .

RonDon--honestly, I had a better steak at Cote Plage in Orient Village (and a much better meal overall) than at Jax. And the cost was less. Your mileage may vary.

We went to Jax in July. It was very good. Just remember if you are sitting inside and you are near the kitchen, it is rather warm.

Across the street is Moulin Fou which has a very good steak, also The Palms presently has an excellent steak and my other favorite on island would be at Hidden Forest Cafe but have not been back since before Irma. Did not try Jax this last trip, but wasn't a fan of Bajatzu so that probably factored into going back to that location. Cheers, Todd
I prefer the Isle seat

Just like with everything else, people agree to disagree. Everybody has their own tastes (like and dislikes). I always enjoyed my entire dining experience at Bajatzu and will be on island in 2+ weeks and will try Jax for myself and will chime in with my opinion here when I return home.

Thanks for the input on steak. Think we'll have it twice in our 2 weeks stay, once at JAX and once at Moulin Fou since we've already decided to eat there. Last year while eating at O'Plongoir we saw a delicious looking steak served to the table next to us so we decided to return another day for steak. We'll the piece was thinner than what we'd seen the other day, chewy, and blah. What a waste.
Of course nothing compares to my fillet mignon with truffle sauce so we're spoiled.
