We’re scheduled to fly SJU to EIS this month on InterCaribbean. One of our crew has seen terrible reviews - items stolen from luggage and a real doozy about someone being on a flight with prisoners being transported etc.

Has anyone flown IC recently?
Are they strict with their luggage limitations - size & weight?

Tickets are booked & paid & non refundable.

We flew with them recently and did not have any issues.
They do check luggage weight so stay within limits. We bought and carry with us one of the hand held digital scales for weighing our luggage. It is much better to know the weight of your bag so that you are not repacking to shift weight at the check in counter.

Henry, thank you!
We will be traveling with 3 suitcases; all three would qualify as "checked" size on domestic (Delta) flights, plus a backpack for each of us. Their website seems pretty firm about an extra bag after the first free checked bag. In other words, they won't guarantee delivery of the 3rd bag.
Anyone here had their bags denied with IC?

Flown with them several times with no issues from them. Biggest problem was length of time it took for American to get our bags to baggage claim making us feel we were cutting it close. However when we ran down there we found things more on island time and we were fine.

Thanks Dave - we're overnighting in SJU so collecting bags shouldn't be a problem.

Agree you should have no problems - flew with them in November - good service - ps I wouldn't blame an airline for a theft out of baggage.

Thanks everyone! Not sure we can get down to one bag pp so we’ll probably be paying $75 for an extra bag. Snorkel equipment, beach towels etc take up space!

We started taking the Microfiber towels. They take up 1/4 the space and dry quickly.

If you are staying in a villa they should supply the beach towels

Adrian - forgot we have microfiber towels! Bought them for a trip to the Abacos. Your right they do take up less space.
Gordaguy - we’re chartering a cat this trip :-)

We flew Intercaribbean this past December. Both flights were on time and uneventful - except the landing at Beef Island where the plane aggressively jerked side-to-side for a good five seconds after we touched down. It was probably the roughest landing I've ever experienced, but the flight crew didn't raise an eye so it must have been pretty standard. In any case, everything else was smooth, and we had a lot of luggage with us including an oversized bag of kiteboarding equipment. The flights were less than half full each so we were able to each have a row to ourselves if we wanted - wish our longer haul flights were like that.
