As others have said, Monday was a washout. It rained just about all day. We took a long walk into Philipsburg, clocked about four miles at a leisurely two hour pace. The light rain and cool temps actually made the walk somewhat easy. Back at Divi with no sun to be found we decided to pack a lunch and take a ride around the island. We stopped at Orient—still so sad to see the remnants of Irma’s destruction on the south end. We were frequent visitors of LeString and were hoping to see more progress. After Orient we headed to Cul de Sac, had our lunch and a few drinks while reminiscing about a trip we made to Pinel one year. Continuing the journey through the low lands, passing the Blue Mall—still don’t get it and eventually back to Divi to catch up on some reading.

Dinner plans were to try Nonna Rosa trattoria in Maho but it was closed. We made a quick donation at Casino Royale and headed off to Fat Tony’s—we’ve never been but since it’s just the two of us this trip, we can be adventurous. Service was great, quick and inexpensive. We did not try the Garbage Plate special—just a burger and grilled chicken sandwich for us. The special would have negated the four mile morning walk for sure! Hot dogs on a bed of French fries covered in a meat sauce with macaroni salad—must be for the you and hearty.

After dinner we stopped in at Hollywood—love the staff there. Ended up making the right decisions and won back what I lost and then some playing roulette. Luckily my husband was there to pocket the “big” chips which kept me ahead.

Suns out-beach day today for sure!

I wish Planet Hollywood would purchase the Blue Mall and use this monstrosity rather than create yet another monstrosity.

Rain isn't good for you, but the island does need it, every once in a while. smile We usually go to Hollywood, but didn't make it there this trip. Next time! I remember years ago, playing roulette there with .25 chips. Lots of fun!!
