made reservation from MIA yesterday - Flight 10:56 to 2:57 - flight change today 12:36 - 4:31. No big deal but I hate getting there so late - Customs, baggage claim , drive to French side - check in to hotel = 7:00PM? Wasted evening!!!

At least it is the same day and only about a 90 minute change. Many AA changes have resulted in passengers having to overnight on one or both legs of the trip. While your change is an inconvenience, it is not as severe as many have been. Be patient, it may change again and hopefully to a more favorable schedule.

Bright side is maybe the airport won't be busy when you arrive. Do not envy you in the fact you'll be driving to the French side in darkness. Take care.

mikeandsandy--when is that for? Sounds like to me, you booked the Max 8 flight, and they have since cancelled it, and put you on the 757, or whichever plane they are using now. You CAN cancel without any penalty and re-book if you want.

From what was originally posted it sounds like they booked one day and it changed the next.

I can appreciate your timing From Toronto – Air Canada and WestJet often have / had later arrival times Our solution – Wilfred Brooks for cab and Jeannie for groceries - No stress and cold beverages! Rental – AAA would drop the car the next morning at an agreed time Enjoy your trip J&B

Well, right, but I'm thinking it's Max 8, versus the other plane, as those are the times that I had booked for May. I WANTED the later flight, which was on the other plane.

No idea, perhaps they will clarify. I can only go on what they initially posted. Seems odd to allow a booking when AA knows there is an equipment change already in the process.

It's called no communication from management to employees that manage the web site and reservations. Oftentimes policy changes are made day by day and there is a time warp relaying it down.

So true. A friend used to work at our AA city ticket office back in the day when we still had one locally and it wasn't at all unusual for them to arrive at the office to find the lobby filled and people backed up on the sidewalk outside wanting to change their previously purchased tickets for the sale just announced in the local paper. Meanwhile, the TA had no clue there was a sale going on....... That was also back in the say and before they imposed the huge change fees of today.
Respectfully,
pat

Like I said before, not a major calamity, just a minor inconvenience - was planning on getting checked into the hotel and catch an early dinner - I think the traffic thru Marigot will be slower then if we landed earlier

AA just changed my departure time back to JFK in mid-January, adding about 30 minutes. No big deal, but I did not receive any notification as I usually do.
